Im fully aware of that. Lets make it as difficult as possible for the fans though. Its barn door obvious most people will have already booked their hotels in Taksim.

Do you really think that the priority of our club will be to sort out something which makes it as difficult as possible for the fans? Maybe they should have firstly canvassed all the fans to ask just where they were staying! If they've been advised by the Turkish authoroities to avoid Taksim ,do you expect them to just ignore that advice?

I find it pathetic that the club doesn’t have far more knowledge about Istanbul than what the Istanbul authorities do.

If nobody said anything and then a small group got into issues with some locals the first thing said would be along the lines of "why weren't we warned to avoid such an area when it is well known for where other teams idiots gather"

Why are you criticising the Turkish authorities? It seems like they’ve just advised Burnley fans against congregating in an area which it appears is populated by another football team’s fans on a matchday.

I would gather in taskim square anyway, stick together and it will be fine, thats where the main drinking area is so unless you are looking for a fun alcohol free trip you will most likely end up there anyway

being a local in Istanbul, and have organized many football trips for the fans coming from abroad to Turkey, in different cities.... having said that, Taksim is not the main gathering point for Besiktas fans. Besiktas lads tend to get together around Besiktas town, and it is not very much related with Taksim. yes you can walk, but Istanbul is not a walking friendly city, it is hilly. Yes you can see fans with Besiktas jersy around Taksim, but not in big groups. I did Bolton, Tottenham, Liverpool in Istanbul in past, we did not have any issue, fans had lots of fun in Taksim area. Leeds incident was something very sad, and was not related a lot with football or hooliganism in the middle of the night. So I can recommend; stick together, don't drink overdoze, and be careful, don't forget you are not in Paris or Amsterdam or Budapest, this is Istanbul.... good luck and safe travel...

Hi all,

As far as I understand everybody makes their own way to the stadium tomorrow unless club organizes transfer to the ground.

I am planning to organize a shuttle bus from stadium back to airport and then city center, old town and Taksim. This will be £ 10 per person or 70 Turkish lira.

This will be a minibus with 15 persons capacity. There will be a person outside stadium around the away end, holding a signboard ''Airport shuttle Burnley Fans'' if anyone wants to join feel free to whatsapp on 0090 533 708 51 97

Safe travel & enjoy your time in Istanbul...

Sinan

For anyone interested sinan has been in touchand replied to every message constantly. May be a good option for us not going to back to sultanahmet although given numbers staying there hopefully club drops us off there.. .

To all who will be back in istanbul i would recommend this service. Taxi was very good - modern and clean. And the wheels stayed on unlike our bus to the ground

Picked us up after the game and we were dropped at our door in rapid time. Took about 2 hours to get to the ground but half hour to get home. We whizzed past the coaches.

Might be worth it for all those who need buses back to airport.

The official coaches seemed to want to race. Then they were stopped by one of the escort vehicles, all the drivers got out and were almost coming to blows. The police showed up and then we set back off at a sedate pace and back to Blue House for midnight.

Was a funny sight Claret a Wizard as the 8-10 coaches drivers jumped off in the middle of the road for dust up!

Burnley fans pipping the ridiculous car horns from the empty drivers seats. Then they all got back on like nothing had happened

Took us about 20 to 30 minutes tops to get back. Used the same service this morning to the central bus station. Cost a lot more than a regular taxi. But again was quick, clean, safe and comfortable. If we get back to istanbul would highly recommend it.

Wouldve been cheaper if the longsider72 and his two mates didnt go out last night and decide not to come back
