Burnley might be better putting the distance between the ticket collection point and square as 50 metres rather than 50m, which could indicate 50 mile to some in a big city.

30 minute lock in at that time of night is all you need.

Now allowing pictures of your passport. Good news. 8-)

Still no update on the pick up and drop off points!

The site was updated 8 hours ago with the comment ‘supporters are advised to continue to check back on this page for more information to follow shortly’. Now what does shortly mean? I would have expected today as I’m waiting to book my hotel near where they will drop me at post midnight.

Don’t worry I need to leave for the airport at 10 am tomorrow and as yet I have no hotel booked...

Absolutely. Where are they picking us up? It says a supporter meeting point but not necessarily the supporter meeting point. It isn’t fully clear tbh as it says more info to follow....

I’d assume if they are pushing people to that square then they will pick up around there too.

You would think so yes but it is nice to be clear so that you can get a hotel within easy walking

I had booked the Essan Hotel down the hill from the Sultanahmed square. It looks very nice, at around £50 per night and there is / was definitely a room free, due to unfortunately I've just cancelled. Not risking a £1000 trip when it isn't confirmed yet if I'll be stranded in the back of beyond with taxi drivers smelling blood. I'd hoped the Metro would be a fallback (last one 11:37) but then somebody suggested we may be kept in for 30 minutes. Made my mind up.

Will have to be Athens instead :-)

Slightly off subject but just seen that if you are flying back from Istanbul Atturk Airport to UK with only hand luggage you are not allowed laptops tablets or large phones. British Government regulations.

This is summary from British airways website

Only mobile phones smaller than the following dimensions will be allowed in the cabin:

Length: 16 cm
Width: 9.3 cm
Depth: 1.5 cm
In addition, certain items known as peripheral devices (which can be attached to a laptop, tablet or larger mobile phone) are also subject to new security requirements. Please refer to the UK Department for Transport's website for more information about what peripheral devices and other items can be transported. Please be aware that some peripheral devices will not be allowed on board the aircraft at all.

I go to Italy at least twice a year and my passport never leaves my room.

Fair enough, I went to Rome a few week ago and didn't carry my passoort. Good job I wasn't stopped. I literally had no idea some countries in Europe you had too.
