Re: WALTERS STARTS
Only read the earlier predictable posts.
Walters and Bardsley's experience counted for a lot tonight.

Re: WALTERS STARTS

He doesn’t...and neither should any fan!Spijed wrote:Alternatively it could be that Dyche doesn't see the Europa league as important as the PL.
Great to be in Europe competition though!

Hope he doesn't go out on loan now, we need him. Did a job tonight!

Picture of him with his top off in the match gallery
I wish I was that old and past it!
Lads clearly looking after himself.

Re: WALTERS STARTS
Did enough to say he was out of position, and probably his first 90 competitive in a very long time.
I've a feeling he's going to be our 4th winger this season, which isn't his fault, but also isn't good news.
I expected a few square pegs in round holes in so Europa league games to manage the players, but it maybe the way for a large percentage of league games too.

I've criticised the signing of Walters on here, but fail to see how anyone can have a go at him for last night. Did a good job for us, used his experience to win us some cheap free kicks and helped Bardsley out. Fair play to him would have been easy to sulk and think why should I bother, plenty of others would in his situation.

Certainly not the way all footballers think though is it? Pretty much our entire team downed tools for half a season when Coyle did his disappearing act.Blackrod wrote:'Could have been easier to sulk and think why should I bother' because he's paid a fortune to put some effort in

Professional football as opposed to amateur and schoolboy football is a lot different. These boys are highly paid to do a job. It's their job. Burnley players don't sulk.jrgbfc wrote:I've criticised the signing of Walters on here, but fail to see how anyone can have a go at him for last night. No one down tools we were left in total disarray.unfortunately the wrong managerial appointment.imojrgbfc wrote:Certainly not the way all footballers think though is it? Re: WALTERS STARTS
Walters did ok. Think he will get plenty of minutes off the bench this season.
Re: WALTERS STARTS
Not from where I was sitting. File that alongside ******** at home, Portsmouth at home, some of the most pathetic, gutless displays I've ever witnessed. Can't blame it all on Laws, even if the players thought he was a clown they should still have had a degree of professional pride.tim_noone wrote:I might be mistaken but didn't we fight tooth n nail that night at the reebok? Re: WALTERS STARTS
Walters did a great job last night, proved why he is a ROI International player, bags of experience. He is no world beater but my goodness we are Burnley not Barcelona, we need a squad of 25 players some better than others but all capable of doing a job when called upon. Walters, Bardsley, Taylor and Long fall into that category at the moment. One year ago Ashley Barnes would have been on that list, just a thought
