An excellent argument for exploiting the renewable energy sources we have.

Canada has just announced a new mega-gas plant for Prince Rupert, on the B.C. coast. Mostly destined for Asian markets, but you're welcome to a share.

Okay, well you're clearly being unreasonable because, as far as I can tell, there's nothing hypocritical in what I've posted, and there's nothing objectively unreasonable in inferring a person saying:

The scientific consensus on anthropogenic climate change was arrived at way after Thatcher closed the coal mines. (Around the turn of the millennium, in fact.) The only way those two arguments ('keep the mines open' and 'move towards renewables') could ever be considered hypocritical would be on the assumptions that Thatcher's decisions were environmentally or ecologically informed, not economically or politically.

I read threads like this to find out if fracking is good or bad. I still don't know. Debate it, don't turn it into an argument.

You're coming at this from a completely adversarial point of view and you shouldn't, mate. There's no need to circle the wagons because I assure you, nobody is ganging up on you or taking a shot on the grounds of your opinions on Brexit. I'm sorry if I've come across as abrasive. Folk who are big enough to accept that they might have been wrong on a thing engender far more respect that those who double down on their terrible grasp of facts or logic or whatever.

It's no right or wrong involved, just seems to be a pattern of coincidence involved tonight surrounding peoples EU votes. I'm renewing my sleep tonight but will have more energy tomorrow for a different activity if you get my drift.

We both know the answer to that question, although i'm curious as to why you think the answer matters.

Outside the 'fracking site' there is susan, wearing straw in her hair, jumping about in flip flops with a yellow placard at the start of October.

Inside the 'fracking site' there is Mary, smartly dressed, calmly spoken, educated with a professional demeanour.

I know who I'm listening to.... Let's get fracking.

I don't think you know what "scientific consensus" means.
Or maybe you do but you just made a basic mistake. We'll see.

Maybe it all won't matter of Yellowstone goes off.

We'll have decades of warning of this supervolcanic eruption happening when it begins but it's in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, three states that vote for the party that is a denier of science and thinks religion should inform everything, so i'm sure their prayers will prevent it.
