At a higher level for Burnley I meant. Mind you, Sam's header against Belgium in the Euros was a beaut.Chester Perry wrote:Unless you are playing Spain in the World Cup finals

This thread is turning into an Andy Lochhead appreciation thread and why not I here you ask, I’m sure we all have memories of some of the great goals he scored.
Apart from that diving header he scored at Arsenal another two that stand out in my memory are the two he scored at Chelsea, Arthur Bellamy played brilliantly as sweeper with Willie Morgan running riot on the wing and Andy unmarkable (if that’s a word) easily putting two past a hapless Bonetti.
Great days.

It just goes to show how many people don't read the opening post properly.
"In the last 40 years " ( so from 1978 onwards)being the parameter I set as I wasn't old enough to see Andy Lochead play

I was going to mention this but you beat me to it. For some reason the goals were shown on the TV news. Two fantastic headers from the edge of the penalty area past Bonetti who was a decent keeper then. Never seen the footage since but would love to.South West Claret. wrote:This thread is turning into an Andy Lochhead appreciation thread and why not I here you ask, I’m sure we all have memories of some of the great goals he scored.

Another abiding memory of Lochhead was one episode in his long-running battle with Mike England. The action had moved towards the Bee Hole End and Lochhead and England were walking back to the centre of the pitch from the Cricket Field end. All eyes were on the action at the far end when England went down like a ton of bricks and Lochhead simple continued his walk to the centre circle.
