Nah you're just trolling, because that's what you do a lot.

He wouldn't make top 10 of that era, Dyched has already given a list of far superior defenders.

I think that's us done on the subject.

Matthaus? He was retired before Campbell even peaked!

But he hasnt. Because as posted. Cafu and Carlos arent centre halves. Between 98 and 2006 he was definitely better than Terry and Probably Rio. And definitely better than Lebeouf.

Canavarro was class but his best years were around 2004 onwards. Nesta was world class but more fragile than Ledley King. Which leaves Desailly who I agree was easily one of the best in the world, Maldini even better and Blanc who was in the twighlight of his career when Campbell was at his peak.

We’ll forget Carlos and Cafu.

CH IMO are the basis of a team. A winning team. Sol was part of an invincible season which is great. But did nowt else tbh. In a team with Henry, Viera, etc that speaks volumes to me at least. CH have quite lengthy careers as they didnt back then need pace. Those I listed won multiple titles, trophies, world cups and euros over quite a long period. Terry won the league in 2005 and did it again 11 years later.

Oh I forgot about probably one of the best ever in the PL, Vidic.

Vidic another great. But again was not at Sols time.

Sol Campbell at his peak was one of the best in the world at that time. If you consider players before and after - Beckenbauer and Vidic for example perhaps not. But late 90s to mid 2000s Sol was as good as any.

Terry went on to be a better player absolutely.

Blanc won 2 titles - one of which was as a reserve at Man Utd and the other the french league. He didnt win any title with Inter or Barcelona who were blessed with amazing players.

Lebeouf didnt win a single title.

This unimpugnable source lists him as the 67th best defender ever.

With plenty of full backs and most of them before his time.

So that agrees, at his time he was one of the best.

hopelessly inadequate as a new manager in a key interview, might has well have just said this lot are ****, I m just passing through until a better offer comes in. Offers nothing in terms of humility or joy at being there. His arrogance is sickening .
