No I watched on tele , but I was at Palace to see zero effort, if you think otherwise you know nothing about football which is plainly obvious from your posts in general.Hibsclaret wrote:Bothered enough to respond to the post.
I’m guessing you were in London yesterday to judge the effort
And if you bothered to read my post properly I said there was nothing wrong with the effort yesterday.

So do I. But every manager reaches a point where they have to go. Perhaps Sean Dyche is at that point? I don't know, and it's neither my choice or decision to make.gawthorpe_view wrote:I like Sean Dyche.

He is in charge and on his game. We will do well.

Re: Sean Dyche
Dreamland. We will never be liked by pundits. Burnley essentially is a working class mill town. Which makes us as fans massively proud of what we have achieved this past 10 years and our remarkable history before Sky and money ruined the game. Because it is all about the money Burnley are not welcome in the Premier League. We are the poor relations. From the majority if not all of the pundits the attitude is ver much " you still here?" Disgraceful bias by the referee and the pundits Saturday.biggles wrote:well, the good thing is that the team are now, for some reason, actually fighting for the cause. or rather, why did they seem to be not fighting for the cause in previous games?
this is the prem. we have had a few years experience of it now. it's , sadly, high time we behaved like prem teams and try to gain any advantage possible. even if that does mean cheating like every other team. if we can't cheat then we should ensure that we make the most of every foul against us. even if that means rolling around on the pitch like every other team does.
and what's with this crap 'no one likes us and we don't care'? that attitude could cost us points every season. maybe if we were more well liked by pundits and refs we could get more decisions going our way?
On the subject of why we are in the bottom three yes we have had a few poor performances but more recently we have been playing well and been very unlucky to get nothing. As said by a previous poster if we continue to play like we did Saturday we will be safe but it's pretty frustrating the way we are treated in this League.

Re: Sean Dyche
Cheating, diving and non penalties aside, we only put the ball in the net once!
Hard luck stories are exactly that, we need points and the only thing that will get us points is scoring more times than our opposition.
Chalk off their offside goal and it was 2-1, a denied penalty didn't guarantee a point.
The rant about our 'offside' would be relevant if Vydra had buried the ball, same with Lichtsteiner's bizzare attack on Barnes but neither did.
Hard cold facts I'm afraid.

The game changed way before Sky came along, the abolition of the minimum wage was the start of the distortion back in the 60's.Healeywoodclaret wrote:before Sky and money ruined the game.
Football was on it's arse until TV changed it again but I don't disagree we aren't popular amongst the elite.
Our so called 'Direct style and Long Ball' is trotted out every week by Managers.
How good were Spurs against Arsenal in the Caraboa Cup?
They scored twice from long balls pumped up front but of course they then become 'raking passes' or 'surgical precision like' not simple 'Long ball smashed upfield by the goalie'

Re: Sean Dyche
Fair points in general, but with VAR that game probably ends 2-2. That's an extra point. So refereeing decisions alone aren't to blame for our poor league position, but there's no point in pretending they haven't contributed to it.JohnMac wrote:Cheating, diving and non penalties aside, we only put the ball in the net once!

Re: Sean Dyche
I think Dyche’s detractors are increasing because of the pathetic sheep mentality of halfwit pundits and social media infected football fans. From those who don’t watch our games and just see an edited interview afterwards, it looks like sour grapes - but the honest truth is no one give a toss about us.
I also can’t see how anyone who was criticising Dyche for being inflexible and lacking in tactical nous a few weeks ago can have any argument about the way we have taken on these last few fixtures (though I understand the frustration anyone might feel with Wood’s continued inclusion). We took arsenal on with a depleted side and gave them a right go and a balanced refereeing performance could easily have meant an invaluable point.
It’s natural for a manager to get more uptight when things are going against them - remember how childish Pep was during City’s first season whereas last year he was ‘so happy’ after every game.
I’m more concerned with whether we’ve actually turned a bit of a corner these last few weeks, results suggest not but I think Dyche has done admirably given the injuries and the opposition, we’ll know more when we have a look at the table on January 4th.

Don't think he's doing himself any favours with his constant bleating about officials. Starting to sound a bit like Mark Hughes who did the same every week to try and deflect from his own shortcomings.

Don't know about "constant bleating", but as taio says, he was right to have a go against the useless Friend.
Or should he have just clammed up and accepted it?

I'm not sure what the negative impacts are. The game has never been more popular.Long Time Lurker wrote:Sean is perfectly right to draw attention to the negative impact (cheating) is having on the game.
