The chances of this all being the case is very unlikely, or at least not likely for a long time.

This is the case at any point for me. It is happening within the referring, within the board and no doubt plenty of other places. It's not a 'man's environment', some of the most influential people in me becoming a Burnley fan are women.

I can see it at management level before playing level FWIW
So the changing room isn't a mans environment?

or does one member of the team get dressed separately and excluded from the teamtalk and build up?

As I say, it would be a long time before it would be to happen.
By which time, who knows we might live in a world where a footballer can be openly gay and a dressing room have individual cubicles to change in before any teamtalk takes place.

As it stands though, yes you're right. The dressing room is a man's environment.

A decent article on women's football (and the damage that the FA did to it for 50 years).

Very, very odd man.
Just pointing out your hypocrisy that's all.

If you don't like that then it isn't my fault.

I've never defended kid killers and not obsessing over your daughter either.

I'll use my daughter as an example instead if it helps.

I want my daughter to have the chance to do whichever job she wishes to do when she's older.

The chief designer at Honda is a woman, who grew up with posters of the original NSX on her wall and then designed the new one.

That's because she was given the chance to climb the ladder fairly due to her ability and wasn't restricted due to her gender, which is what some people on here think is clearly an acceptable thing to do, restrict someone from doing a job due to gender.

I referred to your kid because I cannot understand your attitude now you're a father.

No it isn't Notts.

I'm a fan of Womens' football. Obviously, anyone should be able to play whichever sport they want. And it's great for young girls to play sport.

The problem lies in a small minority of highly vocal feminists banging on about the gender pay gap and using football as an example, rather than using better examples, which still exist, of pay inequality in other industries when people are actually doing the same job.

And they are emboldened by the Beeb in particular constantly exaggerating the sports' appeal to a wider audience.

Those two groups have started to grind with men and women alike.

You never hear a player in the Womens' game complaining or suggesting they are anything they aren't (apart from the lawyer who got the old England womens' manager sacked). You're right in that Notts, they enjoy the game and encourage greater participation. Nothing wrong with that.

There's never any comparison i.e. men v. women, gloves off and proper football e.g.:

Rochdale F.C. v. England Women

Fair do's. I wonder what the score would be?

No Benny Hill dummy manoeuvres allowed, tits out and they get sent off.

We seem to agree on most of it, not sure about this though. I've not heard any 'vocal feminists' banging on about a gender pay gap in football, so they can't be that vocal.

As for the Beeb, if you tallied up their coverage I doubt it would come to more than 5% of their football reporting over a year. Which is fine with me, it's only a very small scale spectator sport if an increasingly popular participation sport. Even then, if you don't want to watch it - and I don't particularly - then don't watch it. Sorted.

Now you mention it I think I've heard the 'gender pay gap in football' arguments from my son. It has been the subject of school assemblies, ethics classes, and now at college Student Union debates and campaigns etc.

So I guess it's a hobbyhorse for teenage feminists :)

The thing I struggle with around the 'stuck in the 1970s' stuff is the assumption that it was all bad.

Why can't we just dump the bad stuff from then; like real racism, insidious sexism disguised as chauvinism, corporal punishment and tv programmes like Magpie.

And retain the good stuff like the overwhelming and genuine respect between men and women, vive la difference, being able to laugh at and with each other, hard tackles in football, Fawlty Towers and the Sweeney. :D
