He pulled out for illness not injury. I couldn't care less but I think thats why him being at a casino is more newsworthy than if he just had a normal injury

Apparently he didn't want to leave the England camp but the medical team were concerned he may pass on whatever bug he had to others so it was decided he should go home. It doesn't look great being in a casino after that, but its hardly a big issue until it is being spun to sell tabloids. They made it sound like he got out of England duty to feed his gambling addiction. Southgate gave the correct measured response I think.

On the subject of Maddison - he didn't withdraw, he was sent home because they didn't want him around the other players with his cold.

Don't let the facts get in the way of people getting their knickers in a twist over a complete non story.Being in a casino a week before his next match is hardly crime of the century, not even any proof that he was drinking.

McNeil has done far more tonight than he did in the last game. He just kept passing 5 yards to others and got took off.
He has played two terrific balls and looks like he wants to make it happen when he gets the chance.

Turf More was excellent. We do some good stuff on Clarets Player.

That would at least have explained things. Boothroyd contacted Sean Dyche and told him Dwight had made the standby list.
