Burnley find themselves with the same dilemma as Manchester City.

Pep says that they cannot compete with the top teams either.

I remember having this discussion a few weeks ago, but forget who it was with.

They were saying because we've not had any bad injuries they were a waste of money. They didn't initially get that you can only say that after the event. It's like only having 11 players in your squad and not getting a single injury and claiming it was a sensible thing to do.
And the same folk were slagging the club for not having squad depth in the past.

with the shambles that they, and us, are watching at the moment?

They need to need to spend......and on players that are actually good enough to play in the Premier League, and not the lower Championship.....at best.
A month ago when wed had two 3-0 wins in a row, everything looked rosy. We were never that good, but never that bad either.
Its not the results that i find disappointing but the performances. We start off too slow, and we never hit another gear. Maybe its tiredness, the absence of Ash and Westy hasnt helped either, or Taylor. The only good thing about Saturday is we never stopped fighting, even if we weren't good enough.
A win against the Geordies and the last few results will quickly be forgotten.
We've also had the bad luck to face tems when they are probably in their best form of the season, only coincidence, but it doesn't help. We need to have someone in the middle to take the pressure off the back 5, we have for a long time, finding someone this window is looking more important than ever
