100k a week x 156 weeks = £15m for a multiple premier league winning international captain

Gibson = 18m PLUS wages
Gibson was £15m.
You know that we don’t pay anyone £100k a week (or anywhere close to this)
There would have been a huge signing on fee.

Why would Evans think of coming to Burnley before the clubs who were after him ?

15m then. Before wages. Point remains. Evans with around 250 prem appearences to his name and over 70 caps at that time wouldnt have cost any more than Gibson.

But we couldve come to a joe hart / joey barton arrangement. I.e. big signing on fee.

And why not? Despite being a top player he had just finished bottom of the league with WBA. He wasnt exactly a regular at Leicester to start either. We could easily have been in the running.

Perhaps we all dwell a bit too much on the signings which haven't worked out as opposed to those which have. I bet that many at Leicester have been surprised by the recent form of Iheanacho & Slimani (thought he'd gone) . There must be thousands of fans all over the country wondering why their club couldn't pick up,for a song, the likes of Mee,Barnes, Tarkowski and Westwood. Anyway, this started as an Everton thread so, my heart says 1-1 but my head says 2-0 to Everton. Hope that my head is wrong. At 12mins past midnight 'A Happy Christmas' to everyone.

Already said - because he wanted £100k a week and we don’t pay anywhere near that to anyone whether we can afford it or not.
Not to mention that with a choice of City, Arsenal and Leicester he is not going to give us a second thought.

Who is to know we did not enquire about his availability anyway and then found out what he was after. Loads of players Dyche must ask about that none of us ever hear about.

Would he be in our team before Tarks or Mee anyway ?
