They need a couple of goals. Why would they do that?

Mullins just stands there looking like he hasn't got a clue what to do.

3-0 Foden, great work by Sterling again, he's run them ragged tonight,
Edit make that 4. the GD is taking a battering now, this could get ugly for them. still 25 minutes to play.
Welbeck on still no sign of Andre.

Well, getting shut of Pearson seems to have done the trick...

I still think Bournemouth are just one win away from safety. Huge game for them on Sunday.

Bournemouth will be thinking the same, a win at Everton gives them every chance of survival.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:24 pmVilla must be fancying their chances of getting out of this.

The Watford hierarchy must be really pleased with their decision to get shut of Pearson.

Villa are not short of money and are a big club. If they stay up I reckon that's just the sort of job that might tempt Dyche to leave, whereas if they go down it would be far less attractive to him, since getting back up at the first attempt would be the minimum expectation of him.

Half a chance for Welbeck.

Does anyone thing Pearson was sacked so that a "keeping up" bonus might not have to be paid.?

Mullins just looks like he was passing the Watford ground tonight and somebody asked him if he would like to stand next to the pitch, he looks totally dumfounded.

Re: Tonight's footy 21/7/20 (Relegation Decider)
I think he means that the board were confident of staying up with just 2 games left and that they were as good as safe, so sacked him then as opposed to after the season had finished.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:40 pmThe saving would be small change compared to losing the PL money, surely?

No help from Watford then for Nick Pope. To be fair I think it was pretty clear from about 10 minutes in that they weren't getting a goal tonight

I know that Wellbeck missed that chance but he has still done more in the short time he has been on the pitch than Deeney did.

What a shambles they're in.
Surely favourites for the drop next season, even if they escape this time.

True but we beat Man Utd in 09/10 season, and in 14/15 we beat City, both at the turf, we still went down in both seasons.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:49 pmJust a reminder this Watford team beat Liverpool 3-0 !!!

Right, I want Villa to go down, but I also want this to go down to the final day.
A 3-way relegation fight could make it one of the most entertaining that we've seen in the Premier League.

Re: Tonight's footy 21/7/20 (Relegation Decider)
I’m happy that my wishing Villa to stay up has no influence on whether they stay up.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:32 pmVilla are not short of money and are a big club. Therefore I can “support” them with a clear conscience (in so far as their survival affects whether Dyche stays or goes).
