Not good news, but this is what happens when folks flout the rules, this virus isn't to be messed with, and if cases are rising the brakes will be slammed on quite rightly.

Test events in the works for the weekend up here, but they may get halted tomorrow when Nicola Sturgeon gives her latest update.

I have to say it doesn't sound a barrel of laughs attending with these restrictions in place, you'd be just as well staying at home and watching the live streams.

"chanting/shouting/singing are to be avoided to help reduce the risk of infection".
Is there any point in anybody being there then?

According to BBC, the club were finalising all options regarding ST refunds and how they allocate tickets with reduced capacity and expected it to be announced this week.

Today’s news will push this back no doubt

Well today has put a dampener on getting back in grounds from October. Plans have been ‘put on hold’.
Put on hold, or under review?

Mass testing at sports venues to be trialled next month

Not all doom and gloom, if the mass testing for negative results is somehow doable it allows for full stadiums possibly earlier than via social distancing rules

That was my thoughts too, it's fine at a low key CC cricket match for example not to have chanting, but at a footy match it'll be so unnatural, and how they'll learn anything from these events I'm not entirely sure, TBH if I was a player I'd rather have an empty ground, than several hundred fans in attendance who you can't interact with, our get any backing from, it's just seems bizarre and pointless to me, and it'll be even more surreal than a behind closed doors game, which the players should have become accustomed to by now.

I’d rather attend a match where I can’t sing than not attend the match at all. For those who wouldn’t then hopefully you have the option to forfeit your opportunities so that others can attend.

Isn't it a reflex action though, imagine Dwight picks the ball up on halfway, beats a couple of guys, and pings one in from 25 yards, do you seriously think those in attendance wouldn't cheer, it's automatic in a football fans DNA to react to those moments, even if they went with all the best intentions in the world to obey all the criteria that had been set, It would be damned hard just to politely applaud a moment such as that, this is why football in particular will struggle to adapt to this new normal, the game is built on atmosphere, both prior to and during the game, if you take that away, you lose the essence of the product, this is one of the main reasons the TV companies are reluctant to shell out top dollar for a token version of the product.
