A battling performance in the first half, finally get something going our way against this lot and saw the game out very well.
It’s been a long time coming that one. Feels good.

Fabulous result, it's been a long time coming against the Gunners, but it tastes very sweet. Lets hope this 'kick starts' our season.

Anyone giving any of our lads less than a 6 today needs to give their heads a wobble. The type of person who if they had 5 nostrils would want 6

Don't want to Diss our win, but lets put things into perspective. We were playing a side who have lost there last 3 home games. We created next to nothing with 1 effort on target and played against 10 men for the last 20 minutes.
Wood missed a sitter and hardly got a touch has did Rodriguez. But for Westwood taking the corner for the goal I would have given him a 5 to, he is way off the pace this season
The only mon who needs to give his head a wobble is thee

Re: Arsenal v Burnley - Player Ratings
A great result and top effort all round!
Pope 9 - NON SHALL PASS! Another clean sheet
Lowton 7 - Better than of late, but struggled with Tierney in the first half
Tarkowski 8 - Very good to see that he's still giving his all
Mee 8 - Good defensively and even managed a shot on target
Taylor 7 - Did well against Willian
Brady 8 - Growing in confidence - great ball for Wood - retaining possession much better
Brownhill 8 - Strong performance from Josh. Covered just about everywhere
Westwood 7 - Solid and some great deliveries from set pieces
McNeil 7 - Better than recent games - I like to see him run with the ball and he drew the foul from Xhaka which turned the game
Rodriguez 6 - Little service to work with and easily closed down when isolated
Wood 6 - Really should have done better with the header - he's with us because he does miss chances - but he also scores his fair share too.
Barnes 6 - Did ok
Vydra 6 - Did ok - good to see him get more than 5 minutes!
We rode our luck at times, but stuck at it and got 3 points. It must give us confidence to push on now. Let's get something from Villa on Thursday.

A very good 3 points but nothing to get carried away with in the cold light of day.
We put ourselves under so much pressure by continually punting the ball aimlessly into areas of the pitch without bothering if we have a player anywhere near.
After the goal the ball miraculously stuck to the grass for 5 minutes or so and we played some excellent free flowing pass and move. It's in our locker so why why they are so obviously under instruction not to use it is frustrating.
Not trying to cast negativity but more about the frustration!

Re: Arsenal v Burnley - Player Ratings
Pope 8 good saves ,awful kicks ( who cares) great positioning
Lowton 6 struggles against real speed but stuck with it
Tarkowski 8 mom Tarky masterclass
Mee 7 back on form and even has a shot !
Taylor 8 good game and could have scored
Brady 7 decent enough though painfully out of position
Brownhill 8 very lively and combative
Westwood 7 stuck to his task and battled
McNeil 7 constantly fouled but getting there
Rodriguez 6 looked sharp but little to feed on
Wood 5 carthorse slow and lacking confidence
Barnes 6 a daft shot and a left footer skied
Vydra 5 too late to affect game
Good win and arsenal has only themselves to blame . We were nowt special but you can feel the confidence coming back and we’ve a more or less fit squad

Pope 9 - great game
Lowton 9 - 1 extra for that skill spot followed by a great cross in second half
Tarkowski 8
Mee 8
Taylor 8
Brady 9 - MoM....best game for a long time and hold my hands up in saying I wasn’t sure he had this kind of performance still in him with all the injuries he’s suffered.
Brownhill 9 - think he’s been playing like this for last few games. Pressing game really suits him
Westwood 8 - great cross for own goal
McNeil 8 - improved on recent games
Rodriguez 7 - worked hard
Wood 6 - deduct 1 for that awful miss but generally thought he struggled last night
Barnes 7 - did well when he came on
Vydra 7 - ditto...good to seem him brought on at an important part of the game with enough time to get into the game and show what he can do.
Great all round performance - still not at our fluent best but defended really well and signs our confidence is returning. Arsenal low on confidence but still full of high quality and very expensive players so inevitable we were going to be under spells of intense pressure. I think we are not far from delivering a performance where a few things come together and we make a few more chances / convert a couple

Pope 9 but lot's of attempts were directly at him, but he is on top form
Lowton 7
Tarkowski 9
Mee 8

Brady 8
Brownhill 9 Best game I have seen from him, previously have not see what the majority seem to see every week
Westwood 7 Extra point for being very annoying regarding the sending off
MacNeil 7
Granit Xhaka 10*
Rodriguez 8
Wood 6
Barnes 6
Vydra not on long enough
I know we are getting back towards our annoying best when I see the reaction of the Arsenal fans to our win lol
