That would depend on what he would have spent last season doing.

Not sure if there was genuine interest in him but if we'd taken a punt, recognising he probably wasn't ready and loaned him to a Championship side where he'd scored goals like he has this season, then it would have been a good move.

If he'd spent the season trying to get in out first team and potentially looking out of his depth when he did get a chance he'd be viewed as a flop.

I must admit that I would like Brentford to win promotion this season via the play-offs and then maybe retain the services of Ivan Toney. If they fail it will be interesting to see who Brentford have identified, either from the lower divisions or overseas, that will follow and take up the goalscoring mantle held previously by Ollie Watkins and currently Ivan Toney.
