You're dead right it wouldn't suit everybody; it wouldn't suit me for one, and no, I'm not a young 'un, I'm nearly 70.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 3:55 pmI've got tickets but won't be going. I'll be honest, I'm concerned about the escalating levels of Covid cases. I'd personally feel a lot happier if the board took the initiative and made mask wearing compulsory and obligatory introduced the Vaccination Passport. I no it wouldn't suit everybody but thats how I feel.

Re: Attendance tonight
Going off the queues to get in I'd suggest there's 53,000 on tonight.

hardly a rubber stamp for all those berating dyche for his lack of interest in poxy cup comps.
if two premier league clubs face off in a game at home and this is the crowd number, then it must go some way to prove it is irrelevant.

Re: Attendance tonight
I bought tickets today and was surprised by the price increase. 33% for adults and 200% for kids. Had I known I’d have gone down earlier, but it was a last minute decision to attend late yesterday afternoon. Not because we couldn’t have decided earlier or couldn’t get down, but because it’s ‘only’ the League Cup and if there was something better on offer we’d have done that instead, so it was a late decision after my daughter checked the prices and said it’s only £2.50 for kids.
In truth I felt like not paying for the tickets, and would it have just been for myself I wouldn’t have, but I’d promised the kids we’d be going on, so grudgingly paid it. Yes, I could have double checked the prices I know, but I was annoyed at such an increase m. It doesn’t exactly encourage walk on fans does it?
Anyway, that’s my gripe out of the way. The attendance was as expected really. I figured 12-13,000 and there was slightly more on.

You’ve pretty much nailed the reason they were offering the lower prices only in advance.Claretforever wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 11:57 pmNot because we couldn’t have decided earlier or couldn’t get down, but because it’s ‘only’ the League Cup and if there was something better on offer we’d have done that instead,

Re: Attendance tonight
Anyway, as a long standing season ticket holder I won’t be fleeced with our prices increases again. If I haven’t decided to attend the week before I won’t be making a last minute decision to attend and paying ridiculous increases.

I am sure there is a really good reason you put the prices went up 33% and 200% rather than just saying all tickets went up £5 on the day, which the club advertised on the website and on twitter plus was advertised on here.

Re: Attendance tonight
Yes, I did it to show the percentage increase, which is huge. The town is all over the news at the moment, and has been for over a week, about the poverty levels and the difference of £20 for a family of 4, for example, can be huge, especially when kids want the refreshments before/during the game. You’re missing the point, or ignoring it, that it does put walk ups off just to turn it into a kind of “it’s only a fiver” argument. That kind of increase will put people off.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 8:08 amI am sure there is a really good reason you put the prices went up 33% and 200% rather than just saying all tickets went up £5 on the day, which the club advertised on the website and on twitter plus was advertised on here.

I know you did it because it sounds huge, plus sounds better than saying I didn't go on because they wanted an extra £5Claretforever wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 9:43 amYes, I did it to show the percentage increase, which is huge. All of which would be relevant if the club didn't inform everyone of this when the ticket details were released.
When season tickets go up next season if they go up £100 you would use that figure rather than a % increase because it sounds a lot. Considering the crowd wasn't a bad one it didn't put people off either buying in advance.

Re: Attendance tonight
And you’ve again resorted to the lowest figure of £5, totally ignoring the other points when I also talked monetary value for you. I can see we won’t agree that a huge increase puts people off and you think the price shouldn’t matter.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 10:05 amI know you did it because it sounds huge, plus sounds better than saying I didn't go on because they wanted an extra £5

Re: Attendance tonight
I have gone off the £5 figure because that is how much a ticket went up. If you are claiming it is a huge increase as if you had a family of 8 and then it has gone up £40 then probably better to be more prepared.Claretforever wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 12:42 pmAnd you’ve again resorted to the lowest figure of £5, totally ignoring the other points when I also talked monetary value for you. Not anywhere have I said the price shouldn't matter, it is a bit like supermarkets having signs up saying please note on the 25th December the store will be closed, turning up on the 25th December to do some shopping and it is closed then moaning about it
If you didn't have any idea that until the day of the game that you fancied going then you had to pay a slight increase on the day. If you are going to an away game do you book the train on the day of the game in case you don't go ? Guess what happens to train tickets not bought in advance ?
Last decent home game in this comp was Leeds and there was under 12k on, I would say the club got it right last night when the crowd was getting up towards 15k.
Re: Attendance tonight
So many long queues for a two thirds attendance.
Missed kick off. Grrr!

I know Maths can be a little tricky to understand but displaying a percentage figure shows how much the ticket price increased in comparison to the tickets original cost.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 10:05 amI know you did it because it sounds huge, plus sounds better than saying I didn't go on because they wanted an extra £5

Saying it went up by £5 pounds doesn't do that.
Stop just digging out other posters for no reason you weirdo.

Good to see the cowardly use of the like function still popular as well.

Guys, can we not take this down in to the gutter of having a go at each other. I don't understand why we always have to descend to who can score the best cheap shot.

Again, your stance comes across as ‘tough luck, if you don’t decide until late then you deserve to be penalised’.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 28, 2021 2:25 pmI have gone off the £5 figure because that is how much a ticket went up. My post was about the price, and especially a price increase of such a huge amount (percentage shows that perfectly), putting fans off deciding to go last minute.
As I stated, we are clearly not going to agree that it could be problematic and negatively impact the attendance. Well, we may agree but you’ve made it plain and clear you don’t care, so that’s that.

Correct I don't care about someone being advised in advance of an increase on the day, then leaving until the day to decide they want to go then complaining about an increase. Like you said though best to leave it at that I have already upset boyyanno, still he got 3 cowardly likes so hopefully this dries his eyes a bit.

Says it all really.
Re: Attendance tonight
I don't care about the "Likes", but I do care about other posters constantly belittling others and making this board generally an unwelcoming place. If you want to support that then fair play to you, but I'll continue to call people out for doing it.

Yeah, he was being a bit of an arse, but you get people like that so I just tend to dismiss them. I have no idea about his previous ways though, and you seem to have seen how he is so have more experience there. I’m not on here often enough nowadays to notice.
