Great race so far, Interlagos always entertains, pit stops have gone the way of Mercedes.

I wonder if Bottas could sneak a 1 stop and hold some people up. He stopped quite a bit later

After the first stint and Hamilton struggling in the air behind Verstappen, you would think if the tyres are looked after then Verstappen should have this race.

Dreadful decision by the stewards. Verstappen makes that corner every lap but when LH is passing him he is 10yds off track forcing LH onto the really dirty stuff.
Should have got a stop & go.

Mercedes getting robbed here. How they can deem nothing to investigate after Verstappen ran Hamimton off the track is ridiculous.

Fantastic to know UTC forum has so many vastly experienced F1 drivers who know what it’s like to drive on a dirty line whilst defending the lead of a race

Try everything you can to hinder him demote him to last, ,turn a blind eye to him being run off the track, it didn't work shame on the stewards for that 1 quite simply the greatest F1 driver ever ...from last to first
well played Lewis

TBF I haven't heard anyone on Sky Sports suggest anything other than Max was extremely lucky not to be penalised there. Either he pushed Lewis off on purpose, or he broke too late to try and hold position and couldn't hold the corner as a result. He therefore gained an advantage as a result.

Re: São Paulo Grand Prix, controversy already
His car failed the scrutinising rules , in most motor racing you would be ruled out of racing. F1 however being big business means his car could be fixed.
They both went off the track, normal standard decision by the stewards.
Great overtaking and a great win for Lewis.
In years gone by I would be cheering, until he became the new gangsters style F1 driver who pays no taxes and tells us we should do.
Re: São Paulo Grand Prix, controversy already
They tried to take it away from him by hook or by crook ... but Lewis H drove like the 7 times World Champion he is and was victorious in Interlagos ...
Funny how the steering telemetry wasn't shown or footage from the cockpit cam showing him turning the wheel yet it was obvious Verstappen drove Lewis off the track by the Sky Cameras ... The F1 stewards tried their damndest but failed
But hey ho its over and the best man won
Lewis Hamilton come on lets have an 8th Championship

If Max had and Lewis had got past he would have had to give it back.
Correct decision for me.
Lewis was faster and got past in the end.
Great race.

The opinions of those on here you refer to are in keeping with former f1 drivers who are expressing their view on the incident.

Very simple, if you emigrate and live in a tax haven you don’t have the right to wade in and lecture or virtue signal those living back in the UK. That’s the distinction and why Lewis has upset a lot of people.
Did fantastic today though. Once he sticks to his racing he is phenomenal.

Many F1 drivers and ex drivers live in tax free Monaco.
But only one tells us what he thinks we should do.
It’s his hypocrisy I don’t like.
His colour is irrelevant.
For many years I was a massive supporter of his, his driving abilities are beyond debate, as seen this weekend.

Great race.
I think they said that is only the third time a driver has gone from 10th to 1st in an F1 race. If you watched it, you’ve just watched a historic race. Whether it turns out to be pivotal or not remains to be seen. I still think Max will win it from a 14pt lead, but it makes it much more interesting.

Back to the race.
Did anybody notice the final time gap between Verstappen and Bottas? He closed him down dramatically over the last 5 laps. I was wondering if they were trying to get within 5 secs and possibly appeal the no penalty against Max.

according to the HMRC statistics, published in 2019, Hamilton was among the top 5,000 highest taxpayers in the UK despite living abroad for most of his racing career,

A stunning victory by Hamilton, and that's why he'll go down as one of if not the all time greatest.
And if he does yet claim his 8th championship that will surely end any debate as to who is the GOAT.

Re: São Paulo Grand Prix, controversy already
A great F1 season, a great F1 race with a superb drive by arguably the greatest F1 driver of all time and someone us Brits should be proud of but yet another thread goes the way of bickering and off topic petty comments between posters.
The thread is regarding the Brazilian Grand Prix, not how much F1 drivers pay in tax, with any comments can we stick to the topic or the race?
It becomes very tedious reading through interesting threads but having to wade through all the rubbish.

Not really. I’m just curious as to whether Lowbank takes any measures to minimise the tax he pays, considering that most people do and that is what he’s criticising Hamilton for.
