Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Has it been called off yet or is it still too early for that?

I hear Ronaldo has broken a fingernail and Maguire grazed his knee in training, so they are down to the bare bones

Jay Rod and Pope out according to Twatter.

Pope will be a massive loss.

I think Sean Dyche has mentioned two covid situations, but not mentioned any names.

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
If they are both out I presume they'll both miss the Leeds game as well, due to having to isolate for seven days.

And if they test negative after 7 days. I am still yet to meet anyone that has tested negative on day 7.

It's all dependent on when one takes the initial test.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:14 pmAnd if they test negative after 7 days. I am still yet to meet anyone that has tested negative on day 7.
i didn't know I had it, so didn't get a negative LFT until 4 days after having a bit of a cold (we test every Saturday due to my partner's work)
Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Pope out is a blow but Hennessey does inspire far more confidence than our options did last season.
Hopefully both Nick and Jay will be back for Leeds, depending on when their positive result were. Isolation time is 7 days now I think.

I’ve never tested positive on a LFT but my PCR was positive. They’re hit and miss.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:18 pmIt's all dependent on when one takes the initial test.

Mrs W has had negative ones everyday since last Monday despite having a positive PCR last Thursday

You obviously have a very small sample size, then. Not representative.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:14 pmAnd if they test negative after 7 days. I am still yet to meet anyone that has tested negative on day 7.
Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
It has to make you wonder with these LFT tests, that the kids are faking them by adding coca cola, or orange to them to make them return a positive result, so if the kids know that im sure the football clubs do, but even more so what does coke and orange have in it that's linked to covid considering how long it took to make a tester.

Clubs do PCR I believe. Might be wrong but I think so. It does raise a valid point though that clubs could fake a result, Watford is the one I’m suspicious about.ClaretAL wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:42 pmIt has to make you wonder with these LFT tests, that the kids are faking them by adding coca cola, or orange to them to make them return a positive result, so if the kids know that im sure the football clubs do, but even more so what does coke and orange have in it that's linked to covid considering how long it took to make a tester.

Not sure what the lineup is going to be tonight. Pope and Jay out and we know who will be in goal but will Cornet start and if not, will it be Wood & Vydra.

Pope out
Lennon starts, Wood lone striker
Only seven subs with Bobby Thomas on the bench

The safety of everyone is a priority and the Premier League is taking all precautionary steps in response to the impact of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 6:52 pmPcr 3 times a week.

The League has reverted to its Emergency Measures, and has increased testing of players and club staff to daily lateral flow and twice-weekly PCR tests, having previously carried out lateral-flow testing twice a week.
From the PL statement on Monday.

Ronaldo starts for Utd. No Cornet.

McNeil as a ten then?
Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
So if Wood is lone striker, 4-5-1.
Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
Cornet is out, so doubtful.

Lennon starting, Thomas on the bench and no under 23s. Looks like a Dyche statement to the rest of them to play through it.

Re: Man Utd v the Clarets - match thread
We need Cornet at Leeds, but that's now looking the bench at best - so why go through all the discussions to release him from the 4th Jan? That's now pretty pointless.

Pope, Brownhill, Rodriguez and Cornet all missing. Couldn’t we have had this called off?

Surely we aren't playing 4-4-2 with that line up. No way Lennon starts ahead of Vyds.
