Re: Comfort Zone
" next level " ; " comfort zone " poor choice of words guaranteed to put our backs up at a time like this .I had actually started to feel sorry for him this season because he's been feeding off scraps when he has proved he can score goals ( Wolves last season ! ) and , deludedly , I had actually begun to think that there was a degree of loyalty in him and certain others .My cynicism has been rekindled...the real " comfort zone " is a £1million signing on fee and another £ 20000 a week in his back pocket...more to follow no doubt but the rewards for being below average in the PL are crazy .When did I last see a Burnley player who I felt was giving his all .Joey B.

Re: Comfort Zone
Sad that he has pretty much confirmed from his own mouth what I had concluded some time ago, it was not tiredness after the Olympics, but Wood had had his head turned while away.
He lacks class and shows he never really bought into team Burnley. He’s far from alone, how many players do we see removing their shirts when they score… demonstrating visibly that it is ‘me’ not the team that scored the goal. Perhaps it is the ego needed to play at the very top, but it is vibe that has been evident for some time in Wood and I think more than any other reason it is why the fans never seemed to put him on a pedestal, and why he will be looked at in the future as an anomaly: a goal scoring target man in the Burnley mould who is less remembered than less successful strikers. Vokes, Conroy and even Billy Hamilton (whose finest hour was international) and many others.

Re: Comfort Zone
I wonder what Stan would think about him saying he was in his comfort zone
Re: Comfort Zone
Very disappointed with Wood's lack of anything nice to say about the club, manager or fans. Says something about the man. Shame really thought he was a decent player for us, I won't be clapping on his return, but I won't be booing him. He's earned a no response from me.

The thing about Chris Wood is that, and I mean this sincerely, his wife is a better footballer than he is.
How many professionals can say that.

Re: Comfort Zone
The biggest issue we have is Dyche being in a comfort zone

Re: Comfort Zone
One of the biggest comfort zone players we have is Matt Lowton, he repeatedly in my view is at his best when he has competition for his position . He can be brilliant at times but then too often loses that edge to the extent after the last three matches believe he shouldn’t be ever picked again , because it’s happened too many times now

Re: Comfort Zone
TbH I think it's largely aimed at Magpie fans - hey guys I'm nor just signing for the money - it's a challenge I've de iddd to take. Oh why am I not scoring? Comfort zone.
It's a bit of a daft thing to say - say you're not feeling fresh or maybe a bit stake and a new challenge would revitalise you. Comforr zone makes it sound like you've not been arsed.

Re: Comfort Zone
The only comfort zone he was comfortable in was the gap behind the oppositions offside line.

Re: Comfort Zone
He’s speaking in football cliches like they all do, it doesn’t mean anything.
He left because he got the opportunity to increase his wage, like we all would. End of story.
