Correct, well said.buzzclarets79 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 5:41 pmDon’t think he is taking anything away the performance, it’s a great point, a point I think no one would of expected, but I’m afraid unless you back it up with 3pts vs Watford it won’t count for much.

Re: Brilliant Point
An excellent well fought point.. some outstanding defending and with a little more composure and luck going forward, could have nicked all three points

Arsenal fans are having a meltdown on twitter, saying Burnley get preferential treatment from refs.

Re: Brilliant Point
Great result. Very important because it demonstrates the mentality of the dressing room after losing Wood.
Re: Brilliant Point
Of course we need to beat Watford.
Not sure why some of you think that's some great revelation.
Let's just enjoy this result for what it is though eh?
Some positivity after a depressing few weeks

Never seen better proof that teams are reffed on their reputations, not their actions. Burnley are aggressive, everyone knows it, and they get away with more as a result. Nonsensical.

Has he ever looked at Arsenal's disciplinary record, over the years?

Re: Brilliant Point
So aggressive that we are the current holders and setters of the longest run without a red card

Re: Brilliant Point
Strange logic, they are using the fact Burnley haven't had a red card since 2019 as evidence of preferential treatment from refs.

Fantastic performance @BurnleyOfficial - getting loads of abuse coming out of the ground. Love the way these formerly ‘big clubs’ think we ‘small clubs’ should turn up and help them put the ball in our net. It’s called defending numpties. We should have won it in injury time #utc

The ref did his best to gift them a win too but I'm sure they're used to that when playing smaller clubs like us.Gaia wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 6:28 pmAlaistair Campbell wrote this

Re: Brilliant Point
It's always great when we get under the skin of the big boys isn't it.
And the meltdown by the Arsenal fans is hilarious to witness.
Exactly the boost the whole club needed after a tough few weeks on and off the pitch, now let's hopefully get a couple of new signings in, and put Watford to the sword and revitalise our season.
I've been amongst those questioning the players attitude recently, but I'm happy to concede that wasn't in question today, they all defended for their lives, and thoroughly deserved the point they earnt.

Re: Brilliant Point
Well it's a small step forward and gives us something to build on. All eyes on the Watford game. Still in last chance saloon for me but there's no margin for error now. But we have a window between now and the Watford game for the players and the staff as a collective to really get things clear in their minds on the way forward and for the board to put their money where their mouths are (excuse the phrase) and get one, possibly two quality additions through the door. A striker and a centre midfielder please. If we can hold onto Tarky that would be a bonus. Let's see. UTC.
Re: Brilliant Point
Arsenal fans are hilarious they literally say it after every single game.
The worst one is Welbeast who constantly blames the ref.

You were right Newcastle claret about welbeast!

Re: Brilliant Point
We could have won this game at the end if Dwight hadn’t been so naive. Having said that a brilliant point and proud of the resolute display from the lads. All of the talk that the players aren’t committed to the cause is nonsense. Every player busted a gut today. Thank you. I am definitely more optimistic tonight. UTC.
Re: Brilliant Point
I really enjoyed the game, like many I feel I thought it was a free game with little to no expectation going off what I've witnessed lately but my team showed up, the minimum expectation is maximum effort was on display for everyone to see, the icing on the cake was the Arse Nil supporters comments, always my favorite bit after a game like this.
So looking forward to hearing Arteta's excuse, maybe the grass was just to short today!

We looked like the old Burnley solid at the back
Up front we had a bit of pace just enough to worry there back four
Looks like we are up for the fight

An excellent performance more like what we know we can play like and have come to expect. Solid defending, decent on the counter. A big positive that we can build on.
