Re: New LED Signage Looking Good
The new screens are good.
Had to park at the Etihad the other day so had a wander around. It's brilliant, really impressive. The huge boards around the stadium are so efficient at telling the story of the club and overall it's a really good mix of history/fan/tourist/corporate, if that makes sense. Plenty of food stalls, lots of local touches. And you know what, it's all blue and white. The same shade of blue too. I know it sounds trivial but the Turf has claret, red, purple, pink... Obviously, one the richest clubs on the planet but no-one is telling me Burnley couldn't achieve a version of the stuff they've done, and still retain the Turf's charm. It really made our hotch-potch, Frankenstein, multi-coloured stadium and gazebo-d fan zone look, well...

Helps a bit when the stadium and surrounds are built and paid for by the taxpayer in the first placePickles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:20 amThe new screens are good.

The Etihad is fantastic, but there is no lack of finance there to achieve it. I know some like it but I think painting the doors on the stands at the Turf in different colours makes it look ridiculous.Pickles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:20 amThe new screens are good.

True true. Speaking about the outside though - how they've used the the design, use of footprint, the images, colours, the City Square they have etc. It's very good. The Turf has enough space around it for something similar. And the colours chosen are bizarre, minging. But oh well.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:26 amHelps a bit when the stadium and surrounds are built and paid for by the taxpayer in the first place

There’s a lot that could be done but there appears no desirePickles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:31 amTrue true. I agree, I'd have liked something similar - a Burnley budget version - for the Turf. It struck me how it embraced history and modernity extremely well. And it's just clean and slick.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:30 amThe Etihad is fantastic, but there is no lack of finance there to achieve it. Agree also about the different coloured stands. I read that it was an attempt to make it easier for first-timers at the Turf? Which is fine in theory I suppose but if that was the case Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Anfield would be looking like a tin of Quality Street.

Re: New LED Signage Looking Good
With the installation of the LED signs they could have left the doors/gates as they were and just indicated the “colour zone” on them (which they have done)ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:30 amThe Etihad is fantastic, but there is no lack of finance there to achieve it. Re: New LED Signage Looking Good
The stands at Burnley have been colour coded for years. Back in the season ticket book days the book covers reflected the stand colours. But to paint the doors in those colours I think is a nonsense. Make it easier for first timers? Signage & a plan on the back of the tickets maybe.Pickles wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:36 amI agree, I'd have liked something similar - a Burnley budget version - for the Turf. Yep, I remember. Fairly sure mine was red, Longside. Painting pretty much an entire stand seems daft, and it looks daft.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 11:38 amThe stands at Burnley have been colour coded for years. Re: New LED Signage Looking Good
We bought the paint that Watford had left for the Jimmy Mac, they wanted £11.99 a tin, we offered £5.
