The lower longside toilets nr the JM end were flooded with **** like the 80s last night. A full row of urinals blocked up.
Horrible.
For the more unattractive games yes. I bet if the crowds were properly given instead of counting non attending season ticket holders there'll be a few games this season with those sorts of numbers on.
I can't think of a single game this season where there would have been six thousand or more empty seats.
We’ve sat in that stand lower tier (hence JM!) since built. Originally had seats at the back until good old Paul Fletcher came up with his his hospitality area which moved us forward a few rows, but we’re right in the middle behind the goal and tbh generally dry and enjoy it there………..and it’s cheap!!!Claretforever wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 8:04 amThe Jimmy Mac lower tier is the worst place to watch a game in the entire ground. It’s why it’s always the last area to sell. The only way that would change is if strong price incentives were in place. The bottom tiers full stop aren’t great, and are pretty much open ends as the roof offers no cover.
Last night though, half way up the top tier was wet through.
Our fans are poor, and have been for a generation. By that mean that we refuse to consider new songs unless one of the big clubs have tried and tested it first, constantly rubbish new efforts and ideas, and the songs we do sing on repeat are sung so fast they burn themselves out before the ground can get involved.Pickles wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:37 amAtmosphere at the Turf has been a bit sleepy for some time. Coupled with the problems with the facilities then it can be a bit of a drab experience. I know it's not for everyone but more and more supporters of other clubs are becoming more organised - tifos, sharing songs prior to kick off. Not a criticism if anyone directly but there doesn't seem to be much of an active fan culture around BFC, and who can blame us really when the team is so uninspiring. But a couple of No Nay Nevers and then pick on the one player in the opposition who used to play for Rovers. And repeat. And that's about it. Maybe I'm just annoyed by the result but cherry on top was people shouting Vout Vout Vout, like a boo, when it's pronounced like "out". But hey.
The Brighton game the official crowd was just under 17 thousand, I think. This included probably 1500 away fans and plenty of non attending season ticket holders. Norwich and Palace as well from memory seemed very low turnouts.
Agreed. I may be wrong but fans of other clubs just seem to have more of a togetherness, a more active and more witty and mature presence. It seems to be earlier and earlier in a game that fans cotton onto a player having played for Rovers and then the atmosphere is just that for the rest of the game. I know results and performances aren't great but... oh well, Up The Clarets.Claretforever wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 11:26 amOur fans are poor, and have been for a generation. Go back 30 years and we used to be able to sing in rhythm, at a pace which meant the songs lasted ages, got a lot of the ground clapping and then joining in. We also used to try new stuff as well.
I’m not sure when or why it changed, but I can’t see it changing as the young fans today, those we need to be taking the lead, can’t organise themselves and are scared to death of anything different.
That Wout chant was embarrassing. That’s the best we can come up with?! It’s not even the right pronunciation!Pickles wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 10:37 amAtmosphere at the Turf has been a bit sleepy for some time.
