Tony I emailed the club about this with not even a response, I think it would be nice for our players out of respect when we do this,to turn and face the screens with the names on, rather than have their backs to then.

Just don't think it looks right with their backs against our deceased fans..

They probably didnt reply as they had their head in their hands in depair. Give the club a break. The players stood around the centre circle in time honoured fashion but some still find fault.
Ah ok, so I assume nobody can make a suggestion in your world? Shall I in future run it by you? What does depair mean by the way?

If you're going to criticize somebody for making a suggestion, at least spell it correctly..

The surname Stuttard appears I think 4 times in that list. Terrible year if they are all from the same family....

Mrs ClaretAl was a massive fan and claim to fame at the Turf is the last person to stand in the top corner of the Longside near no man's land as the police allowed her to as heavily pregnant with my daughter but wouldn't miss that match for the world. And for her name to be up there just after getting over the 1 year anniversary of her passing on January 19th felt fitting and also another milestone emotionally. So hats off to BFC those attending last night home and away and CT for ensuring this fantastic and deeply important day continued to happen.

It looks like the offending name has now been removed from the video on the clubs social media

I don’t think it would have happened this year if I’d not done anything. In previous years I’d always arranged it with Daz Bentley and he would receive all the names and go through them to ensure they were all genuine as far as he could.

I think you need to petition the board with a copy of this thread to show what being in touch with the fan base means, and how important the club is to not only fans near and far but threaded through lives for an eternity.

Carmelo Policicchico (Chico), 61, was my German/Italian friend who was probably SC Freiburg's greatest fan. He wrote in the Freiburg programme and even wrote a book about the club. He had a kiosk in the former Freiburg stadium and actually had just opened his own pub inside the new stadium, which he was able to visit once before dying suddenly just before Christmas from a heart attack. He also owned a pub in Freiburg called the Swamp much loved for its music (Chico was a great lover of John Peel). Chico loved visiting Turf Moor and enjoyed the banter in the local pubs after the games. We had planned to celebrate his 60th. birthday at the Liverpool v Burnley game at Anfield in 2020 but were thwarted by Covid. RIP Chico, a football and music lover.

I'm sure the deceased Clarets looking down from heaven will have been proud of that second half performance.
As mentioned earlier it gets a lump in my throat when I see the children on there.
