I dont think anyone was out of this world and Id probably only give 3 9's (maybe 4) with the majority on 8 and a couple of 7's. I would say your marks are as ridiculously high as Newcastle's are as ridiculously low but if thats what you and Newcastle think then fair enough
I probably could have marked a few higher, I left the defenders at an average rating purely down to the fact that I didn’t think they had much to do because of how effective the midfield were. Hence why I gave the midfield a much higher rating.

Great game for us, not sure why people are getting upset over player ratings

I know everyone sees things different, but I think Newcastle needs a new hobby if he thinks most of our players were average today.

2 great goals. A determined 3rd. Hit the bar from a long range shot. An unlucky offside goal. Clean sheet. Did they have a shot on target?

Not much else they can do.

I’m finding it quite amusing, on a day Newcastleclaret marks Josh Brownhill 8, he’s getting slagged off for his other scores!

I'd say an average player rating that translates to excellent is closer than one of above average. Not sure how someone can give an average rating of 6.6 when we won three nil away from home - against a side that only Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea had lost fewer games than before today - and played so well, and yet the same poster said it was of our best ever PL performances - how the **** does that correlate.
Quick look through the ratings and if you ignore the one's I've mentioned more look to average just below 8 than which is about as near to Newcastles 6.6 than Ian's 9.3 so like I say both sets of ratings look a little OTT to me

That’s a team average of 6.4. You think a team winning away, at a team in the top 10, scoring 3 goals, 2 of which were crackers, and conceding none. Is at best average? Wow.

Pope - 7 - his easiest game of the season by a long way. Bonus point for winding Maupay up
Roberts - 7 - questioned his quality previous games but the assist and effort that hit the bar were top notch
Collins - 8 - slots in with ease - looks a bargain buy
Mee - 8 - won everything
Pieters - 8 - a really good display and reduced Lamptay’s threat to pretty much nothing

Lennon - 9 - the reverse pass for the first goal was DeBruyne standard and his finish for the third superb. A run of games has done him good
Cork - 7 - a good performance having been out so long
Brownhill - 8 - loads of energy and a goal to boot - the booking was ridiculous but that’s another story
McNeill - 7 - some good stuff on among and helped nullify Lampty.

Cornet - 5 - I’m a Cornet fan but he still looks way off it to me. I’ve no doubts it will come
Weghorst - 9* - between him and Lennon but he edged it for being a key part of every goal. He links play up so much better than Wood. Terrific finish for his first premier league goal

Jay Rod - 7 - thought he was really good when he came on. Looks to have a great understanding with Weghorst already.

A terrific team performance ensured what turned out to be a very easy 3 points. Keeping it tight and creating chances - there’s hope still

Maybe with all the controversy concerning marking 10's - as 'out of this world' is perhaps akin to a once in a lifetime Messi performance by Messi himself - maybe in future we could think about introducing .5's to the ratings?
I do often think Tarks for example when he has been scored 10's and has had a stray pass or two, that is probably worth at least .5 below 'Out of this world' in my view.

Yeah or stretch the scale from 1-10

I think folks after a win give out 9s/10s way to liberally just as after a loss probably give out 3s/4s too liberally as well..

If you give a 10 for Wout then what would it be if he scored a hat trick for example?… 10 should be literally the perfect game - at least in my opinion

Pope 8
Roberts 8
Collins 8
Mee 8
Pieters 8
Lennon 9
Cork 9
Brownhill 9 MoM*
McNeil 7
Cornet 6
Weghorst 9 MoM*
Rodriguez 8

* New territory for us WW & Brownhill were the pairing,
not 2 forwards or 2 CMs but Wout worked back and Brownhill got forward
As I say it’s a while since we’ve had that dynamic
So their pairing is the MoM for me

Pope 7 - not a lot to do
Roberts 9 - fabulous game, great assist after almost scoring a worldy
Collins 9 - The future Captain of Burnley
Mee 9 - an absolute rock, will really help Collins develop
Pieters 8 - he really has developed
Lennon 9 - FOrce feeding me a LOT of humble pie, that reverse pass was world class.
Brownhill 9 - So important to the way we play.
Cork 8 - quietly effective
McNeil 8 - decent, but more to come yet.
Cornet 6 - still off the pace, but will hopefully blossom sooner than later.
Weghorst 9* - WHAT A SIGNING!

Rodriguez 7 - did ok, may well get Cornet's place on Wednesday.

Burnley are well and truly BACK! 8-)

Team performance - 10
Pope 7 - just not a lot to do, defense back to what I expect
Roberts 8 starting to look like what I was hoping he would bring, am expecting goals from him occasionally
Pieters 8 played very well indeed
Collins 8 really impressed with him and think he will be a stand out player for us.
Mee 8 just noraml as to what he bring
Lennon 9 - I was wrong, he proved me wrong and played well in the last couple of games
Brownhill 8 he has improved so much in my opinion over the last few games
Cork 7
McNeil 7 much better than of late
Cornet 7 wish he would get proper fit, maybe missing the Spurs game
Weghorst 9 a leader and he can really play, just hope he stays fit right up to the end of the season
