Pieters won’t start the next game after today’s showing against that young lad out wide. Dyches record of returning certain players back into the starting line up is there for all to see and I reckon Taylor is one of those. I’m also ok with that.

There will be changes in the midfield too. Westy will be back for Cork probably. Not getting all three points today will guarantee those changes happen.
It will of course be put down to another reason, and it will be ‘sound’ reasoning like Cork is tired and Taylor will be better against Leicesters wide player.

Taylor hasn’t ‘come on’ as much as I thought he would…. After the first 12 months I was convinced he’d be knocking on England’s door but it just hasn’t happened for him yet. I mean I think he has more potential than we have yet seen, and I also believe he is probably our best option at left back despite pieters playing well and putting a shift in every time he turns out.

Taylor is and should be first choice… and pieters is good back up, but back up non the less.

Taylor is good at this level, well at home. But I don't think he quite has the ability to be replacing luke Shaw or Ben Chilwell at left back. Even the likes of Brandon Williams given his age would be considered the understudy.

I felt a bit for pieters on Saturday, olise would give any left back a headache staying so wide and having the ability he does. We'll warned rest Tuesday and hopefully Taylor is hungry to get his place back.

We've looked much better with Pieters at left back since Taylors injury as hes a better all round footballer with more poise and control on the ball.

Admittedly he doesnt run up and down the line a lot but his interplay and passing is far superior to Taylor which goes misunderstood by the untrained eye.

Didn't realise Pieters is one of our top wage earners, interesting. Agree that he should keep his place
And I’d be amazed if he was

Given that he was forced off with an injury there’s every chance he won’t be available.

Good point, fairly made. Hopefully it's just a knock - Erik is a good player, and is good enough to play at this level. Having him on the bench ready is great cover. I'll be honest, I prefer Taylor, but whenever Pieters comes in he always makes a positive contribution.

He’d be in for me if fit based on his performances over the last seven games.

I think tiredness showed yesterday and that leads to injuries.
So for me Taylor in cos Pieters may just have a knock but he’s knackered too.
Been flat out since chasing Saka against Arsenal
I’d make the same argument for Cork,he’s been immense but 2 games a week against Liverpool Spurs Man U Chelsea etc is too much for some players.

Taylor if fit.

I think Westy and Max should be back as well. Jack and Jay Rod have done great, but 4 games in 11days is asking too much of them.

Taylor would have been my starter day and night 6 weeks ago. Looking at the job Pieter's has done since coming in, it's changed my mind slightly and I'd be loathsome to drop him. He's added a less hurried approach down the side and an element of calmness with his technical aspects, of course he's not as quick and powerful as Taylor but with the addition of Roberts in the starting 11, he has balanced us nicely. I've been impressed with his defending, he's faced some tough opposition in the past few weeks including the spurs multi million pound winger he had in his pocket most of the game. Can the tactics accomadate both Taylor and Roberts in the same team? That remains to be seen. It could be that the side is better balanced with Lowton and Taylor or Roberts and Pieter's, a more attacking fullback with a more defensive one.
Taylor is a great player and obviously has a good few years on Pieter's so in reality the starting spot should be his, but right now, he can wait untill the change is needed or an injury (which looks to have happened).

I bet Sean Dyche...who has successfully undertaken a complex and endlessly demanding job that is, effectively, a multi-skilled senior exec role for almost a decade.....just LOVES being insulted and called names by intellectual giants on here.

It was once said that a high % of those who were for brexit came across a bit thick

Why does it feel it has just gone higher when reading any of your posts

We rarely get into a situation where we can give a player 30 minutes rest with a like for like substitution.
i think this would really help our regular midfielders who get through a lot of work.

I agree, for as good as he is at motoring up and down with purpose, I can't recall the last time he had an assist and he's never scored for us. Early this season was the poorest I've seen him play for us, we were leaking goals constantly from his side. (the Brighton 2 and Leeds 1) were the first to jump to my mind.

Probably not the best response from you considering what you claim I said I clearly didn't. There were only 2 lines in my whole post and you still managed to get it totally wrong. I won't ask which way you voted :D
