Pope 9 (at least 3 brilliant saves to keep us in it)
Roberts 4 (poor)
Tarks 7
Mee 7
Taylor 6
Westwood 5
Brownhill 6
McNeil 6
Lennon 7
Cornet 4
Weghorst 7*

Collins 6

The better team won and we struggled from the first minute to the last. They won every second ball and every physical challenge. I was just thinking we might cling on for our precious point when they scored out of bloody nowhere and that was it. Tbf we had 2 excellent chances second half and should have scored them, but overall we were nowhere near the level of the previous few games. No questioning the commitment and effort, but well below recent standards and sadly we got nowt! Hindsight is great, but leaving Jay out for the hopelessly out of form Cornet was a disaster. As was not including Cork after recent matches, but tbh Cork looked leggy on Saturday. Tough calls, but looking back, probably wrong ones.

Can't really argue with a lot of what Spice says. I think Westy and Brownhill are too similar and we've looked good with Cirk (mYbe it wasa game too far) but weird to see Cornet up front. He's a good player but really lacks the presence up front and needs more space to work in. Should really have a oreed though at 0-0.

Pope 9
Roberts 6
Tarks 7
Mee 7
Taylor 6
Lennon 8
Brownhill 8
Westy 5
McNeill 8
Weghorat 6
Cornet 5
Collins 7

Agree with the above. Weghorst is more effective when we play more football. Westwoods' first time curved punts aren't suited to Wout and we suffer as a result. Could have scabbed a draw, but constant bad decisions and poor final balls cost us. We also looked second to most 50/50s which isn't like us, tiredness creeping in I think. Plus I think we looked less organised when Mee went off, I hope he's ok.

Pope- 9 - Superb

Roberts- 5 - Felt a bit sorry for him, we needed to double up on Barnes as he was their only threat

Taylor - 6 - Looked rusty

Tarkowski- 6- Did ok

Mee - 6 - As above, really hope he's not done anything too bad, we'll need him

Brownhill- 6 - Thought he did pretty well all things considered

Westwood- 5- I like Westy, but I think his days are numbered in this team

Lennon - 6 - Hit and miss, superb tracking back at times, unlucky with the offside

McNeil - 7 -Thought he was our best outfield player along with weghorst

Cornet - 5 - Argh what has happened to him? Confidence? Protecting an injury? He doesn't look up for the fight

Weghorst - 6 - Good link up play, we need to play to his strengths more, think he plays better with Jay. Hopefully he'll link well with Vydra when fit.

Collins - 6 - Did ok, but nothing more

Jay Rod - 6 did ok when he came on

I agree with Claretspice who pretty much nails it. A really poor first goal to concede. The second was a result of us chasing the game. I lost count of the poor decisions and sloppy passes we made. Cornet looks off it, he needs to be benched until he's fully fit as we can't afford to carry passengers.

We looked tired, they grew into the game. Bit of an off night, but we need to keep positive. Fine margins again with the offside and the silly goal we conceded, plus Weghorst missing that chance near the end from the corner

Plus tonight shows how good Ben Mee really is.

The ref was a shambles and gave us nothing :(

Pope 9* kept us in with a chance
Roberts 5 reality check tonight
Tarkowski 5 didn`t seem to be as effective in the small move right to left
Mee 6 His absence showed how important he is to us
Taylor 4 needs more time to get fully fit
Lennon 6 A bit of the old Lennon, worked hard huffed and puffed a lot but no end result
Brownhill 6 worked hard as usual but less effective than he has been
Westwood 4 Sorry Westy you brought nothing to the table
McNeil 4 one or two threatening runs but in the end a damp squib, this lad has talent but insists on floated crosses which are
virtually useless for forwards, their second came from a cross perfectly delivered with pace and accuracy, try it
Dwight it works
Weghorst 6 Put a shift in but was ploughing a lone furrow till Jay came on. had to feed off the same scraps that Wood has had
to endure this season
Cornet 4 Definitely not one of a front two but some of us thought that before today, can`t believe Dyche felt splitting up
the Jay/Vowt partnership up was a viable option irrespective of games played

Collins 6 Didn`t do anything wrong, distribution was a little wayward at times
Rodriguez 6 We looked more of a threat in the final third when he came on, held the ball up well in his short time on the pitch,
should have started
Dyche got it wrong tonight, possibly for the right reasons, Charlie probably had to play but he isn`t ready, Cornet needs a kick up the arse and pushing out wide or bringing on for the last 20 minutes to utilise his pace against tired defenders but not a starter as part of a front two, Westy, Cork had looked a bit leggy on Saturday so probably had to start but honestly brought absolutely nothing to the table.

Weghorst - 6 - more involved than Cornet and more good touches but we weren't able to get him enough ball to feet and he seems more effective when he has a partner who takes the physical pressure off.

This

Weghorst is not an out and out number nine and when he plays alongside Cornet he is generally doubled up on by the oppositions centre halfs/defensive midfielders, add this to the fact that Maxwell doesn't press the same from the front as Jay does and we struggle to get a platform to play from with them as a pairing.

Cornet could play off Wood and did so successfully but Weghorst is a completely different style of partner for him.

Pope 9* Kept us in it for as long as we lasted. Some world class saves. Easily England's best keeper IMO.
Roberts 6 did OK but was kept on the back foot for long periods.
Taylor 7 played well but not given much space down the flank.
Mee 8 Solid as ever.
Tarks 8 played well and saved us on a couple of occasions.
Westwood 4 did he just come on to take set pieces? Don't recall seeing him the rest of the time.
Brownhill 7 suddenly growing into a superb driving force in the middle. Needs better support though.
Lennon. 9 In the form of his life. Looks lively going forward and always tracking back. More energy and commitment than the guy just over half his age on the other wing!
McNeil 5 So frustrating. There is talent there but I'm not sure there is much heart or much in his head either.
Weghorst 7 some nice touches again but never really looked like getting a goal.
Cornet 5 Not been the same since AFCON. Seems to get knocked off the ball easy. Would prefer to see him wide.

Jayrod. 6 think he links better with Weghorst than Cornet and better at bringing others into the game too IMO.
Collins 6 did little wrong but not his best performance for us.

I thought we were OK without the real spark. They flew at us from the start, well rested of course, and when they went 442 with their best front four we were suddenly struggling. Saying that though, we had just missed a chance to win with Max, then another with Tarky, were unlucky with the Cornet offside and we then nearly grabbed a leveller with Weghorst who had the defender grabbing his arm back at the time.

They are a really good side who have had some weird results. Ndidi and Tielemans are probably better as a midfield than Liverpool have. Barnes is also really good.

One little nagging grumble - that first goal Jay should have ran across Schmeical but I felt he bottled it and let the Dane clear it upfield. If he ran goalside the ball would probably have been kicked out of play to stop the ricochet into the goal. Then we switched off and let Vardy collect it. So a dozy 20 seconds after a decent effort cost us. Again. We cannot do that against players of this calibre.

A word on Vardy. There is a Burnley player if I ever see one. Too late now of course but our kind of striker. We hate him of course but that is one reason why he would have been suited to us, we love to have players with that bit of spark, Barnes and Barton being two. Fire in his belly, team player, great finisher. Naffs me off how he keeps doing us in though, at least he didn’t lead to our relegation this time, hopefully.

Some unreal marks for mcneil. I'm mot sure whether expectations are simply too high, but a 3 or 4 is just ridiculous.

Cornet 3 had he kept onside it would have been a different game.
Wout 6 Dyche turning him into his former love child Wood.

Collins 6
Jay 7

Hopeless tactics, pass back to Pope, punt up to WW, lose ball, repeat. Dyche turning a talented footballer into a hoof ball target.

Pope kept us in it first half, second half a lot more even, but Vardy made the difference

Very disappointing really, but I don't think anyone in the outfield kept to the high standards they have set themselves recently

I liked the idea of the changes, using Cornet speed Westwood passes to get us further up the pitch, but we just couldn't get it to work at all first half, and really didn't pressure them enough off the ball all game

Game of opinions I guess, but for me, McNeil was the only one who could keep the ball for more than 5 seconds

Pope 9*- Kept us in the game with a series of fine saves.
Roberts 6- Showed plenty of commitment and energy.
Tarkowski 6-Not his best.
Mee 6 Think his injury impacted on us.
Taylor 5-A big fan of CT but he didn't look his normal self and I just wonder if he's fully fit.
Lennon 7-A bit of a revelation of late and he didn't disappoint last night.
Brownhill 6- Ran tirelessly but no end product.
Westwood 5-Thought he was poor and I was disappointed Cork didn't start.
McNeil 5- Surprised SD didn't switch him as he was getting no joy down the left flank
Weghorst 7-Worked his socks off but he needs more support around him.
Cornet 4- I was surprised he started. Has done nothing of late to suggest he should be ahead of JayRod.

Collins 6-Hard coming on for such a key player but he looks assured.
Jay Rod 6-Would have started for me, or at the very least come on at half time.

Pope 9 - Outstanding, the save on 8 minutes was world class MOM by a country mile
Roberts 6 Barnes gave him a torrid time, but Barnes does that to most
Tarkowski 6 A couple of poor errors, but generally sound
Mee 7 Hope he's back soon
Taylor 6 As someone noted earlier, perhaps not 'match fit' yet?
Lennon 8 I continue to eat humble pie regarding Aaron
Brownhill 6 Worked hard
Westwood 5 Struggled tonight
McNeil 6 Lots of pretty footwork, but always a hesitation/lack of confidence in making the cross/having a pop at goal
Cornet 5 A yard slow/short for everything
Weghorst 7 Did well with the service he got and probably suffered from the erratic refereeing more than anyone

Collins 7 I get more comfortable about JTs departure every time I see him play
J Rod 6

Pope 9 world class performance
Taylor 5 poor
Tarkowski 4 poor night for him, ducked to let Daka in, let Vardy score an easy unmarked header.
Collins 5 marginally the better of the two
Roberts 5 Barnes is a fantastic player
Mcneil 7 stepped it up 2nd half, quiet 1st.
Westwood 3 appalling, zero composure, panic panic panic, scared to pass forward, cost us the first goal (exactly the same at Leeds), all the time in the world to bring the ball down on the edge of our box, instead he just hooks it anywhere will do. Panic
Brownhill 7 very good again
Lennon 4 looked threatening often without delivering anything threatening.
Cornet 4 He's not a striker, He's not a target man, He's not good in the air, why are we hoofing the ball to him and expecting him to do something? He had the ball to his feet like twice in the entire game.
Weghorst 6 similar to Cornet, pass the ball to his feet.

Surprised at the high scores for Lennon, thought he was poor tbh, highlight of his game was the sprint back to defend and win the ball. I can't recall 1 decent cross all night and he had ample opportunity.

Not sure I'd be giving people credit for disallowed goals tbh. Was it not a mis hit shot? He's been good recently, he was crap last night though.
