Looked better without Dwight in the second half, today.
Yes but largely because we tweaked the shape and so Cornet played a slightly different role, and the whole team looked more balanced - and then of course City declared after 70 minutes.
Set up first half plaged into City's hands.

That’s a funny selection. Who’s Westwood?

For me:
Pope
Lowton Collins Tarks Taylr
Cornet Brownhill Cork McNeil
Lennon Weghorst
Or Rodriguez for Cornet (who was ineffective yesterday despite having licence to play higher than Dwight) and Lennon wide right.

Quite frankly we have to win. So here goes...
......................Pope
Roberts Collins Tarks Taylor
..............Westood Cork
....Lennon Brownhill Cornet
.................Weghorst
I know it looks very similar to yesterday. But McNeil just isnt cutting it for me at the moment and I think Cornet is better on the left, and looked to cause real problems yesterday. I've also been unsure of Westwood recently, but I like Brownhill in that advanced role. I think he's a better version of Hendrick there. So this let's him push on and have 2 to sit to also hopefully allow the fullbacks forward. I see victory coming from 2 things: stifle DCL and/or Richarlison; pressurise their defence into inevitable mistakes. Bizarrely I think they are under more pressure than us

Really hope McNeil is nowhere near the starting 11 on Wednesday. His confidence is shot and he needs a rest from the team for the sake of his own mental health.Surely Dyche can see this.

Pope
Lowton Tarks Collins Taylor
Brownhill Cork Lennon
Rodriguez Weghorst Cornet
433 for me
Must win must attack
That’s my reason for Lowton not Roberts
Roberts is a better defender but Lowton has a bit of something going forward
Same with Taylor, Pieters better defending but Charlie can be good going forward

Pope
Bardsley (if fit) Tarky Collins Taylor (Pieters if fit)
Lennon brownhill cork cornet
Ww Vydra
Bardsley will give us that leader and bite we need. Vydra running in behind will create space for Weghorst to get it in to him (hopefully his feet) and turn on it. Vydra gets a lot of stick on here but for a big striker who likes to get it in to him and turn he is the best partner as his runs in behind stretch defences and create space in front for Weghorst to work in.

Pope
Lowton, Tarky, Long, Taylor (Pieters if fit)
Cork, Brownhill
Lennon Cornet McNeil
Weghorst.
- Dwight only coz I can’t think who else to play LW, Cornet hasn’t exactly set himself in glory when playing there.
- I’d stick with Kev Long with Tarky if the skip ain’t fit, yesterday was a hard game for him to be judged on.
- Haven’t been impressed with Roberts yet (bar Brighton), he’s too stand off & we can’t afford passengers on Wednesday
