Re: The 3 worst films you've ever seen
Years ago, I went to see Here We go round the Mulberry Bush. It was hopeless.
However, as I only went to see Judy Geeson, it was OK by me!

1. Dogville
2. Matrix Revolutions
3. Fargo
Number 3 is probably okay, but I couldn’t get past the accent. The “yar” 5 times per minute was too much for me, so I only got 20 minutes in. I should probably give it another go.

I didn’t even think there was a second one. Not sure where they could have went with it.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Mon Apr 04, 2022 12:13 pmI dont think i've seen the film Rita, Sue and Bob. I've seen Rita, Sue and Bob 2 but didn't think it was that good. Do you prefer the original or Rita, Sue and Bob 2?
It was a cheesy bit of comedy which was quite relevant to the times.

I believe the second one was a lot more popular than the original. I think you're the first person Ive come across who has actually seen "Rita, Sue & Bob" whereas I know a fair few people who have seen "Rita, Sue & Bob 2"

However I didn't think a great deal of it, pretty violent but with such a dry sense of humour (if that's what it was) that I didn't feel it, and therefore I couldn't see any purpose to the film.

You had me with Man Overboard as I’d never heard of it. Found this on IMDb, if it is the film you intended the world agrees with you, going off its’ rating. The lowest score I've ever seen on IMDb.

Re: The 3 worst films you've ever seen
It might be useful to introduce some criteria.
To start with, what is meant by "worst"?
"Worst" because of the:
a) plot;
b) screenplay;
c) acting;
d) directing ?
I'm not sure the "genre" can be a reason in itself. I don't like all these comic book films but millions do. I sat through the latest "Star Wars" film with Adam Driver. But only because my son wanted to go to watch it. I think Adam Driver's a good actor but to be quite honest anybody could "star" in these films.
I also endured the penultimate Spiderman effort. Jake Gyllenhaal was in it. He's an excellent actor in my humble opinion but the money was there and he sleptwalked his way through it. He alternates though, making independent films where he'll be paid 1% of what he was paid for the Spiderman thing.
The special effects in these films are amazing but I just get bored of them. But each to their own.
I cannot abide musicals but were I to watch either version of "West Side Story" and say it was one of the worst films I've seen just wouldn't be fair. Or valid.

Re: The 3 worst films you've ever seen
1973, in Mississipi, a well-intentioned cousin took me to a drive-in cinema.
We saw something where various angry-looking little Orientals would continually leap 10 feet into the air in order to kick some or other fat villain dressed in black. I was only 16, but even then amazed to see actual adults watching the stuff.
Title something like "entrance of the dragon".. Or something close to that.
Whatever it was, it made John Wayne's catologue of gormless berkery look almost intellectual.

Totally agree. The Coen Brothers, along with Wes Anderson, bring a breathe of fresh air to an otherwise dank period in contemporary film making.

1. The Last Jedi - just what were they thinking?
2. Judge Dredd (Sly Stallone) - nearly walked out of the cinema it was that poor
3. Ad Astra - So boring I struggled to stay awake
