It's a sad indictment of our supporters that so many would rather we play prettier football at a lower level, where the club's future was in doubt for much of the last 20+ years, than less attractive but effective football at the highest level.
It's even sadder that these same supporters often then accuse other people of lack of ambition for wanting grinding Premier League survival over flashy Championship unpredictability.
There's so much wrong with the PL right now: refereeing, VAR, diving. Then there's all the bullshit that goes with it
I'm not sure it's "prettier" football that fans are after.
Perhaps having ambition to finish a little higher than 17th would help.

Have to say; I was completely for SD seeing out the season and thought he’d eventually pull us clear. However, now he’s gone I am looking forward to us attacking teams that deserve attacking as well as frustrating teams that need frustrating.

Apart from the first 2 seasons back in the Championship early 2000s and the 3 promotions, the Championship was shite.

Premier League for me, it's tough but isn't that what life's about?
Anybody who takes the time to watch Championship football as a neutral, will realise how on the whole the quality of the football is poor.
The longer we stay at that level the smaller the fish we become in that pond, what do we do then, crave for League One football because we can win more games and visit different grounds?

I agree fully with all those flaws on the Premier League.
I completly disagree that we at any point lacked ambition to finish higher than 17th, given the only season that happened was when all transfer activity ceased due to the club being shopped around. My concern is if current ambitions don't concern league position anymore.
