Thanks to Ben for a great decade at Turf Moor.
You'll always be a Claret.
I have a feeling he will return as manager one day.

i'm not sure why people think BM will, or could, return as a coach.
Sometimes it's better to just let go.
It's professional football, they go for the best money, simple as that.

The worrying thing about Ben abandoning ship, the guy who would literally put his head on the ground to block a shot, is that it shows we can expect no loyalty from any others - Cornet, Collins, McNeil, Taylor could all be engineering moves for all we know.

What we need is a good persuasive manager to tempt these to stay, and a board who spend money IF we have the ability to. Luckily, we have both.

The difference between Ben Mee and those you mention is that they are all under contract.

At least some of them with release clauses

Equally those fans demanding loyalty aren't asking for Stephens & Lennon to be given a new deal, neither of those 2 asked to leave so we should keep them right ? Or does loyalty only suit sometimes ?

The point was that I'm not sure how a player leaving at the end of their contract means we can expect those who are under contract to be engineering moves away.

There is overwhelming positivity about Mee. Can't see many people questioning his loyalty.

It’s bonkers that some people are begrudging Ben Mee one last pay day at the end of his career.

He probably is leaving because of money but he’s been an absolute colossus for us over the years.

Yes but my point is the vast majority have only been positive about Mee. The poster was commenting yesterday about the negative being the loudest - or better words to that effect - yet goes out of his way to pick out negative comments.

Do you think there should be any negative comments towards someone who has served us like Ben Mee has ?

As for going out my way ? It was there right in front of me.

No, absolutely not. He's been great for us. I can't understand why people think he's just chasing the money - he will clearly want to play PL football. But the vast majority recognise what he's done for us.

No homage to Dyche on his leaving vid.

There was clearly a fall out - for me I’d have backed dyche over the under performing players

Great player/ captain and represents the superb last 10 years we have had as Burnley fans. He has been Mr Consistent for many years.

Poor effort I thought not to mention Sean Dyche. Whether or not there was a 'falling out' at the end, Dyche must have been a huge part of his development as a player and a man. Yes, it might have been a mistake but there's now been time to correct it with a follow-up.

Dale Stephens was a very bad idea as a signing
Sean was determined to finally sign him 4yrs too late.

Since SD departed I don't think I have heard any reference to him from any of the playing staff. The only person I have heard praising SD was Michael Jackson who was full of praise for him, for what he had done and achieved

The whole SD leaving so suddenly and nothing much said from either him, the club or any players, is still proper weird in my book.

It is. Communication and PR has always been bad during my time supporting BFC, but it seems to be worse than ever these days.

I am a huge Ben Mee fan and am gutted he is leaving.

I know we won’t ever find out why is didn’t take the clubs offer to stay - presume it was a pay cut which he felt was not something he was prepared to accept?

It’s just that all the great things he said in his message about the club etc but he still decided to leave does seem to leave unanswered why leave us then?

Anyway all the best to Ben Mee.
