Re: Vincent Kompany interview part 2
Enjoyed the interview.
I had thought it was probably more family driven for us to have got his services over some of the other teams he was linked to. Appears that wasn't the case.
From a footballing perspective, I hope he gets the support, time and resources required to achieve his vision. I like the fact he understands the importance of the club to the town and wanting to make it a place where people are looking forward to coming.
Can't wait to be part of the crowd that will welcome him and the team when we get back to the Turf next season!

It would have been hilarious on here had he said
“l had another gig lined up but her indoors wanted to be closer to her Mum to help look after the kids”
But yes, comes across as a level headed sort, and I wish him well in this task.
UTC.

If VK can manage as good as he speaks, we are in for an exciting season, looking forward to it.

Re: Vincent Kompany interview part 2
Can't wait for this season. Not been this excited to watch Burnley for a good while. I just hope the fans don't jump on his back if we aren't around the play-offs at Christmas. Tiki-taka has been dead for years, and the focus these days is on aggressive offence with an energetic high press, and not so much the patient build-up play of the early 2010's Barca/Spain that Howe tried to imitate, though possession is still of major importance, and we can probably expect a few more centre-half one-two's than some of the more restless fans would like to see. Everything Vincent has said points to this aggressive high-intensity approach being his style and I absolutely love it.
It's entirely possible we're going to be a complete and utter shambles to watch for a good few months before it all comes together, because clubs rarely go through the kind of squad overhaul we're going through, and still less with a brand new manager attempting to radically change the footballing culture over a solitary transfer window. Assuming we sell our better players (and also Weghorst) this will be the biggest player churn at Burnley in decades, and because of this I think we as fans need to be immensely patient in the first few months; patient in the face of possible derby defeats, patient with individual mistakes, with the tactics, substitutions, formations etc, perhaps even well into the spring. Perhaps we'll only begin to see what we're building by the time promotion has been written-off. This is going to be so, so different to the last decade. The guy just clearly knows football, and I think with everyone on board this could be so damn exciting.

He spoke very well and avoided the nonchalant football manager cliches. Very different from Dyche.

That’s if he is given the time to build over a few seasons.Spiral wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:58 amCan't wait for this season. Not been this excited to watch Burnley for a good while. I highly suspect if promotion isn’t looking likely he will be sacked before the end of the season.

I disagree, I think he will be given time. We are now at the beggining of a period of change and results are unlikely to be immediate.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 7:01 amThat’s if he is given the time to build over a few seasons.

I think the latest Pace interview shows this to be incorrectNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 7:01 amThat’s if he is given the time to build over a few seasons.

I've got one as part of a bank of five, doubles up as an expression pedal, but I think the springs going on it as it turns itself on and off through the vibrations in the floor.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 4:05 pmDo Boss do a wah? Mine's a Jim Dunlop.
I do have loads of Boss pedals though.
I use a cry baby now instead, as part of the signal chain, but the trouble with that is you can't tell if it's on or off at a glance.

Is there a way of blocking people with a Newcastle postcode

Re: Vincent Kompany interview part 2
If he can sack Dyche 6 months after giving him a lucrative 4 year deal then I would suggest there’s a good chance he would sack Kompany if results are not going the clubs way.
Not exactly reaching for the stars with that comment.

Basically all your theories have proved to be wrong so far. Have you got any others for us?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 4:22 pmIf he can sack Dyche 6 months after giving him a lucrative 4 year deal then I would suggest there’s a good chance he would sack Kompany if results are not going the clubs way.

I said we would be relegated without a CM signing?

Re: Vincent Kompany interview part 2
He's a little bit boring, just hope the football isn't.
He said he wants exciting football that the fans want to come and watch. Great, I just hope that doesn't translate into that tippy tappy crap that half the Premier League play.
Go on Vinny!

Stevie Wonder can see the media have it in for us at the moment. Wouldn’t expect any positive reports, always desperate to bring in the 65mil debt line too.

Re: Vincent Kompany interview part 2
Big test for Kompany and I agree we all need to give him our full support if it takes him time to get things right on the field. That will be an interesting watch.
What Pace does if the worse happens is something we don't know whether you feed of every word he says or mistrust him.
Here's hoping it's success right from the start
