Wouldn't you say we had a lot of injuries to key players last season?

By playing hoof-ball in every match, hope that is finished with.

Should not have sacked the manager.
Those last games (following his sacking) were always going to get us points. His knowhow would not have let us fold in those last matches.
I had us down for 20 good points and we were on track, until we lost our way again.

Did you see the Norwich game?
Re: How did we manage to be relegated?
As much as I loved Dyche and didn’t want him to go, I don’t think we’d have picked up as many points in the games that we did following his departure.
Something wasn’t right, we’d lost that fight and togetherness. Norwich away was just one example of too many during last season.
There isn’t one reason that we went down, it’s a whole raft of things that could be seen coming.
Last summers window was one of the final nails on the coffin.

There was nothing to lose by sacking SD, imo.
We were on a downward trajectory and would in all likelihood have been relegated weeks
before we were.
The bottom line was that things were going wrong and he didnt know how to turn it around.
The performance at Norwich, as said, was dreadful.
At least, installing Jackson gave us a fighting chance.

Re: How did we manage to be relegated?
None of that makes sense.
Why were those last few games always going to get us points ? Our season and record up to the point of sacking SD clearly showed that it wasn’t. At that point we had failed to even score against the bottom 2 teams both of which were 2 of the worst in the league in the last decade and had terrible defensive records.
You having us down for “20 good points” is I assume down to pure optimism rather than any kind of evidence as to what was actually happening on the pitch !
Jackson got us playing much better than anyone expected and much closer to survival than our form under SD suggested we were capable of. Inevitably he made mistakes too and whilst SD might not have made the same mistakes there was zero evidence last season that under SD we would have been going into the final game with a chance to stay up…….zero evidence.
And I’m a massive fan of SD but something was not right last year at the club between him, the players and the owners.

When we sold Chris Wood and didn’t reinvest the money well enough was the final nail. Zero Goal Threat
