Re: Mowbray to Sunderland
The average neutral fan was led by what they saw or heard in the media etc.
That's why they were banging on about us being dirty at the exact same time as we were breaking and setting a new record for most games without a red card.
The average pundit was biased against us, and this trickled down to the average fan.
Club owners will know what Dyche is capable of, both with financial backing and without.

And yet did he get one job offer during his tenure here? Even after somehow getting us into Europe?

Pochetino and Potter being linked with Villa.
Re: Mowbray to Sunderland
I could see him landing the job with a Forest or a Bournemouth if they are struggling later in the season , seeing him as a saviour to avoid relegation as the money will matter more than the image.Socrates wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 10:26 amI love Sean Dyche. I think he did a brilliant job.
But there’s absolutely no way he gets the Leicester, Forest or Villa jobs. His brand is too entrenched and clubs like that consider themselves progressive.
Personally think he’s going to have a real hard time unless he adjusts his thoughts. To me his two options are relegation firefighter or big club salvage project in the Championship.

Re: Mowbray to Sunderland
I'd wondered if they might go more adventurous and maybe go for Mike Jackson. Mowbray feels solid, if unambitious

Re: Mowbray to Sunderland
Poch might be interested, can't see why Potter would consider Villa right now, if he continues working miracles at Brighton surely one of the big 6 will come calling sooner or later.
It is somewhat disrespectful for the media to be speculating when Gerrard is still in charge, but I guess that's the modern age for you.

Palace made a very serious enquiry but were put off by the buyout clause.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 11:46 amAnd yet did he get one job offer during his tenure here? Even after somehow getting us into Europe?
He was lined up to replace Dick Advocaat at Sunderland and it was going to happen right until Advocaat changed his mind about leaving.
Was that the information you wanted?

Yes - you confirmed that he didn’t. Just debate normally rather than being snide.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 12:24 pmPalace made a very serious enquiry but were put off by the buyout clause.

Slightly off-topic, but whatever happened to Roberto Di Matteo? Not been in the managerial picture anywhere since 2016. He has a decent CV, and he has experience at all levels in English football as well with some success...

But there's every possibility those those two factors could come together, no?
Whereby one of those three need a "relegation firefighter"
to save them....so the "absolutely no way" scenario about those three clubs goes out the window.
Forest, for me, being the most likely club in need.

Nothing snide in what I said.

I know that've spent a fortune bur Forest had an ok start and I've been quite impressed with them from what I've seen. They should keep Cooper.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 1:21 pmBut there's every possibility those those two factors could come together, no?

Do you know anything about Steve Cooper and the brilliant job he has done at Forest? Why on earth would they be likely to need a new manager?ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 1:21 pmBut there's every possibility those those two factors could come together, no?

The chairman is very trigger happy, and certainly is one of those that regards spending lots of money as a virtual guarantee of successwelsbyswife wrote: ↑Mon Aug 29, 2022 1:56 pmDo you know anything about Steve Cooper and the brilliant job he has done at Forest? They are on a high at the moment though. Cooper has completely turned the place round. It's ridiculous to suggest his job is under threat.

Re: Mowbray to Sunderland
Right about Cooper but the owner is erratic to say the least.
