Do we have a player who can take men on who also has an end product?
Tella, Benson, Zaroury, Maatsen, Vitinho and when he returns maybe Twine.

And this is before Kompany dips his wick into the January transfer market.

I think Zaroury looks good and hopefully will develop into an excellent player but he is playing against Championship quality defenders. Wait until he plays against Prem teams before you do any comparisons.

I thought he was right footed but I'm increasingly unsure and if he took a corner with his left then presumably thats his preferred foot. He's certainly the most 2 footed player I think I've seen at Burnley.

That finish yesterday is truly world class even if he is right footed. If its his weaker foot it is absolutely unreal. He just placed it but it went like an exocet missile. A little like watching someone like Virat Kohli time a cricket ball.

The Heartbeat song should stick. Very catch and a good pace. Me and my Brother were singing it all night.

"Anass
Anass Zaroury runs down the wing for me"
Then in time with the du du du du du's repeat Anass Zaroury 4x

And repeat. For 45 minites. Then for the rest of the evening. And possibly for the rest of time.

I think Dwight was held back by the system when he played in the PL for us.

He’s played 572 mins and already scored 2 goals this season, whereas for us he got 0 goals in 3112 minutes last season.

I think he’ll really kick on at Everton, and good luck to him.

And if he is that perfectly weighted and whipped cross for Jay last week is pretty remarkable.

The idea all players should be two footed is something of a cliche. At one level it’s true but it’s far less common than we’d all assume and besides there’s being able to use your weaker foot at a functional level and being able to manipulate a ball with either foot. The latter is very very rare IMO.

Like I suggested, he's both footed. Let's just accept he's an extremely good winger who can use both feet. He can cross, shoot and pass with either foot.

Agree - very rare. And like you say idealistic and unrealistic saying players should be two-footed. There have been many great players that were weak on their other foot.

I think his dominant foot is his right but the sequence of his goals in the first highlights reel I pulled up were R, L, R, L. His two footedness and his balance are great attributes that mark him out as being capable of playing at a higher level (with us). Looking forward to seeing the never ending Zaroury.

Yes 'Kvaradona' is one of the most exciting prospects in world football at the moment. I saw him live against Ajax recently and he ripped them a new one.

Definitely more 2 footed than Mahrez, although whether he'll turn out to be a better player is a different question. But he's undoubtedly the most 2 footed player I've seen play for Burnley and as I said previously it's very rare to be able to manipulate the ball on both feet like he appears to be able to.

I thought he did plenty to reaffirm his potential on Tuesday but also demonstrated a bit where he has stuff to learn. He did get drawn into showboating a bit at times- beating a man twice where once would have done fine and doing a bit much himself rather than playing the simple ball. That decision making will come with time and I'd far rather he had the confidence to showcase his talent rather than the opposite. His final cross was also a bit disappointing - given the amount of opportunities he had in the first half in particular he would have expected to carve out more clear chances than he did.

But these are minor gripes in the context of huge talent. I also thought at times he showcased other important skills - his passing was generally perfectly weighted (see one gorgeous ball over to Benson just before he came off) so he's got a lot more in his locker than just a trick and a shot. There is though a danger of expecting him to hit the heights too often too young and being disappointed when he inevitably falls short- we've seen that before at Burnley.

Given what JBG and Brownhill have shown I'd quite like to see him take a free kick sometime soon!

I had a great view from the Lower Jimmy Mac stand of our warm up shooting routine before the game.
Zaroury and Tella were the best strikers of the ball. They were both deadly accurate curling it into the corners with a lot of power and great technique.
JayRod can still ping a great ball too.

I am loving Zaroury’s (and Tella’s) positive body language too. They both seem to be loving it here and you could tell they are both extremely popular with the other players. It’s great to see this kind of talent and positivity at the club at the moment.

I doubt either have had 4 or 5 thousand away fans singing songs they have made up about them in the career so far so I’m not surprised they are loving their football right now.

Spice is right about the pass to Benson, it was perfectly weighted and displays a football knowledge outside of going past his man.

Great signs.
