The team from my op has been confirmed
As has been said by numerous people, no time to try new formations or players so he's hoping that they can spark the old magic

Its his call, and its a big one

If countries really had a problem with the host nation, they'd have said they were boycotting back in 2010 when the tournament was awarded.

I actually think that England knew all along they wouldn't be able to wear the rainbow armband.

Personally fine with it. Expecting it to be tricky against an organised Iran. Looking forward to seeing Bellingham make this tournament his.

Not sure Hey, but once again the USA coverage is absolutely spot on. It’s just very very good with lots of life in situ footage and the positioning of the life studio is cool also. Kelly Smith is on the panel. I might switch to the Spanish coverage to see how that is going, because it’s a different network.

England reached the European final, what on earth are you talking about? not getting the best out of them
As I said, we've only beaten one good team in a major finals. I think a semi and a final has flattered us. And the last few months have been a disaster. Including failing to beat Hungary in 3 consecutive games

I respect Southgate. I just think he stifles us

I don't think I've seen Foden have a great game for England yet and I'm a big fan of his. Do we just keep picking him based on his Man City form and hoping he'll turn it around for England? or do we pick the players who perform the best in an England shirt?

We spent 10+ years hoping Lampard and Gerrard would replicate their club form at international level.... all people cry about is club form, did they not learn anything
I was replying to your statement about Foden at the last Euros not about his current form with Man City.

And we were told that officials at this tournament were cracking down on blocking.

If that’s not a clear concussion injury I have no idea what is. Their keeper needs replacing for his own health

Hopefully the keeper gets better soon, that does not look good at all. Surely sense needs to take over and take him off.

He's going off ... I don't think it was the Iranian bench but the player himself who decided to try and stay on ...

Don't see the point in VAR if they can't award a pen there.

Keeper should be going off, and this is where football needs to improve, and put it in the hands of medics.

Tripps looking bright in the opening stages, wouldn't surprise me if he bagged an assist or two today with the amount of service he's getting.

Every player is going to want to stay on though

It should be the medical teams call, not the player or even the manager

England lost their rhythm since the stoppage, need to get back to that early flow again soon.

Bored already, we’ll probably win but it is all very safe. The wingers are being asked to track back, Saka nearly fouled a guy on our corner flag.

Interesting though to ponder what pressing the Clarets will face against better teams in the PL. Iran putting us under pressure with it.

The Southgate lovers are going to go overboard now because we are beating a crap team.

England should be posting a rugby score past these teams. Wait until they meet half decent side

Bloody hell, wait until full-time before you start belly aching.
Iran have come for a draw at best and are trying every damn trick in the book to make it difficult.
Fair enough.
