Re: Gary Glitter
I would in no way set out to fight Glitter's corner, he certainly did some dreadful things. However, it is often claimed that perpetrators have previously been victims themselves, and as far as I'm aware, that is the case here too. It doesn't mean that it is an excuse for the behaviour, but it does leave people damaged and can explain a lot.
There is also this:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/article/ ... 586689ae3c
A brave and honest account of having to live with the abuse and how it affected him. It's an illness, a mental health concern and this person is calling out for help.
As for Glitter, well it may just be that being released is not the blessing he hopes for. No doubt he'll be hounded by the public, the paparazzi and goodness knows who else because he is such a high profile figure. Whatever we think of him, he needs help. That said, such help would probably have been afforded to him during his sentence.

This menace should never be let out ever again. Trying to get onto the Dark web within 14 days of being released proves that he cannot be trusted and he has no remorse for destroying young girls lives.
If I had my way him and people like him should all be euthanised

Be careful, you’ll get the residents hounding you in force telling you that everyone deserves a second chance apart from those who have differing opinions to themclive40golf wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 7:33 pmThis menace should never be let out ever again. Where have you read he tried to access the dark web? I read an article that suggested he has had no access to the internet while in his 'safe house'.clive40golf wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 7:33 pmThis menace should never be let out ever again. This fella has had more second chances than most others. Time to throw away the key. He needs to stay in jail until he dies.PaintYorkClaretnBlue wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 7:49 pmBe careful, you’ll get the residents hounding you in force telling you that everyone deserves a second chance apart from those who have differing opinions to them![]()

How does a none football subject about a pedophile get to stay open when many others have been removed

Re: Gary Glitter
Good keep him there, I'm normally one for allowing folks time to change their ways, however this guy is beyond redemption.
Thankfully Paul Francis Gadd is now 78 so with any luck he'll be meeting the grim reaper soon.

Re: Gary Glitter
Sorry for the late reply.
Several news agencies have reported this.
Apparently he’s sent an encrypted message to someone asking how to bypass tracking of phones and get on the onion, (apparently a secret code for the dark web)

Seriously though he’ll be under that much scrutiny, something as simple as opening a social media account will be breaking his licence.

Re: Gary Glitter
Hopefully he gets recalled to a cat B as I’m sure he served his sentence in that “ special “ sex offenders prison didn’t he ? Though his money should keep him safe .
It was quite funny if a bit naughty the way the Sun set him up , but zero sympathy for this orrible clown .

He was filmed by another prisoner at the bail hostel. If the prisoner hadn't filmed him and reported it, the 'system' would be no wiser.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:28 amShows that the system works and has put him back where he belongs.

Re: Gary Glitter
He was released as he met the criteria required for that (whether you agree with that or not is irrelevant). The release was on licence and he broke the terms of that so he went back in.
That's the system and it worked.

It doesn't really matter how it came about. He broke the terms of his license so he's back inside.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:01 amHe was filmed by another prisoner at the bail hostel. If the prisoner hadn't filmed him and reported it, the 'system' would be no wiser.
I'm also pretty sure that the level of monitoring he would be under would have uncovered any breach soon enough.

Re: Gary Glitter
You said the system worked. I'm only pointing out that it was another person staying at the bail hostel who reported him, not those who are supposed to be monitoring him. Anyhow, at least he's back where he belongs, for now, at least.
Re: Gary Glitter
Isn't the primary goal of the "system" to rehabilitate for safe release? In which case the system failed....Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 11:07 amYou said the system worked. Re: Gary Glitter
It matters in the sense that you can call into question the efficiency of the people entrusted to watch him, but the most important part is indeed he's back in custody for now, the system is under that much pressure with people thin on the ground he can't be watched 24/7.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:23 amIt doesn't really matter how it came about.
