One great commanding headed clearance from their corner.

Re: Ashley Barnes
Barnes has an incredible talent for getting the best out of the players around him. When he was at Brighton Glenn Murray benefited from the way Ash would create space for him in the penalty box by rearranging defenders. He also is fantastic playing with his back to goal a finding pockets of space.

Re: Ashley Barnes
Like with all the players because of the system and tactics VK plays , when Barnes goes to control the ball or make a pass he will know exactly where his options are. Which obviously makes him and us look a better team.
Obviously he has adapted and learnt like the rest of the team.

Re: Ashley Barnes
When we go up we're going to need a new forward who is better than anyone we have right now.
None of Barnes, Foster, Rodders, Obafemi will be up to the task.

Re: Ashley Barnes
Barnes was superb today in how to handle a local derby when it was getting tetchy at the end.
It strikes me that on one hand we are going up because of our new young flair players, but on the other hand we are going up because some of our golden oldies are proving a cut above this division. Barnes, Gudmundsson (who seems to have so much time on the ball), Cork, Rodriguez, Taylor, Roberts - all have at times dominated the opposition with nous, experience and skill. Whether they are good enough next season is another question but we need that experience somewhere in the team.
