How much??
A lot less than they want according to West Ham

We went up a couple of gears in the second half but Southampton haven't done that, yet. They haven't given Tella anything to run on to either so he is being a bit stifled. I noticed that he was outside of the box at corners in the first half. Wasn't he in the middle for our corners?
Can't think back to the majority of corners but he certainly was at Sunderland away when he started our comeback.

West Ham sold Rice for £105 million and made it public that they want Ward Prowse to replace him.

Tella looks lost, stood waiting for a pass to make another ten yard pass. What a waste.

Southampton players look held back trying to play how Martin wants them to.
Would be far better going a bit more direct and pass with purpose.

When Madeley just dropped the ball for Dawson I’d have loved it if he’d immediately launched it 80yds down the field. That would have tested Bobbys fitness.

Swansea played at a higher tempo than Southampton are doing.

I think that’s a tad harsh - a bang average league 1 side doesn’t accrue as many points as they did last season.
I enjoy being harsh

They aren't a patch on Ipswich imho

other than the shot for the goal Tella has been pretty anonymous, I still think their valuation is high for him.

Sheff Wed had about two touches of the ball in the last ten minutes as they couldn't get it off Southampton.

I thought tella apart from the goal involvement was busy but not much paid to off for him a lot of bad touches. Edozie looks a real talent.I really like che Adams if weghorst went I think he would be a great signing.

He was anonymous in quite a few games, but brilliant in others.

I think if Che Adams stays at Saints he will be a prolific scorer in the Championship and by the January window Saints would want in excess of £25m for him, whereas if you believe the media he has been available for circa £12m. Wouldn't surprise me if Dyche went for him now

If they keep Ward-Prowse I would think that's pretty much the Southampton team for the season. They looked promising for a first game at a new level playing a team devoid of ability by comparison. They just didn't score enough to confirm their superiority but they still got the three points.
As others have said, it looks very similar to how we started out at Huddersfield. Once they get settled into their new ways and learn to use Tella for the best, I think him and Adams will have a field day.

Southampton started really well, and ended really well, but they were very passive for worrying large chunks of the game
Clearly (like us) not the finished article, but I think Martin likes to keep the ball a little too much and perhaps they need a ruthless streak
Wednesday bang average is about as nice as you can be about them I feel
Tella did great for the goal, and looked like he did for us for the first twenty minutes but in all honesty, he didn't look like the player he did for us, which suggests that either he's not as comfortable as he was (either in his position or his role)

Very good finisher, fast and vital to our pressing game.
I am, though, getting concerned at just how much he's improving in some fans' eyes whilst he's away. He's getting better at a faster rate than injured players do and some will behave like we've signed Messi.
If he does return, he'll be a young player adapting to the Premier League and we can't expect the same impact from him as last season.

Let’s be honest we would’ve beat both of them sides on show last night, together.
