Burnley FC backed the “safe standing” (rail seating) movement in early 2014. That’s almost 10 years ago now that there was an option to work towards which would help lessen the problems with standing in NL2 and NL3.
Back in 2016 Celtic were the first British club to introduce rail seating. That’s 7 years ago. Other English clubs were trying to introduce it before that, with WBA springing to mind. I know we needed approval but we’ve been relatively silent on it.
Our club have always nodded to the positive when asked about it but have done nothing during most of that time. We always wait for others, but the issues in the JHL should have had us being on the front foot with this several season ago to lobby and gain approval like other clubs. I know priorities were elsewhere with the training ground and disabled stands, but it’s 2023 now.
We have been looking into it this past 6 months I’m told, and have looked at options. Hopefully the club go for a more German look, similar to Celtic and QPR to maximise the tread depth of the row and standing/passing room, rather than Man United/Wolves where you need to be under 5 feet tall and 10 stone so as not to crush your legs and be able to get past people.

Who will hold their club provided tartan blankets when they stand up?

Re: Club Statement re Persistent Standing.
Safe standing makes sense for the Cricket Field. The issue with the Longside is they don't want people standing at all as it affects the corporate boxes, regardless of whether it's safe. Safe standing won't come to the Longside as standing isn't something they want to encourage.Claretforever wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:26 amBurnley FC backed the “safe standing” (rail seating) movement in early 2014.
