Impressed. Considering the outfits he's been up against too. Not everything came off, but his speed and dynamism really stood out. He does brilliantly in the lead up to our goal. I'm sure he manages to get away from three Villa players.

Could he be the £100m player VK has talked about? If not, who do you think it might be?

Was Kompany 15/16 when he broke through at Anderlecht? Seems he isn’t afraid to throw in youngsters as a result, great to see

He was 16 and showed mad skills as a youngster. Already being 1.93 and a strong guy for his age. He even once in the CL when a player got a red card I believe vs Celtic, made a sign to the bench that 3 in the back would be enough, him being one of them of course.

He was a bit too much of a showman collar up like Cantona doing stepovers on the left wing. At Man City he turned into a no nonsense defender that didn't take risks. At Hamburg there was still confusion about what his best position was, they wanted to use him as a defensive midfielder... The rest is history.

He was one of the brightest young stars at 16/17 playing defensive midfield and for Hamburg he was somewhat of a coup signing when United and Real were sniffing around. He admits he was a bit too cocky at that age and I’m sure his self reflection will be valuable to our youngsters

The lad is a class act. Major positive today.

Suspect he’s firmly going to be one to fulfil the buy to sell high model. Early signs are that he’s going to go for mega money.

Brilliant game from the lad. Him and Foster the only positives.

Great player. Needs a strong midfield behind him.

Was one of the best I’ve seen. The speed of passing, his speed to beat his man, great finish.

That move shows where we’re trying to get to but need to learn to defend/not play 5 at the back.
