You wonder what the thought process was of some of those who went and are now unhappy? Surely they can't be that stupid they didn't have a basic understanding of what living there would be like.

Probably the greed of gold influenced them.

Not Hendo. He went to promote football in Saudi Arabia and to continue his sterling work as a social justice warrior.

If he had anything about him he'd rejoin Sunderland and help them get promoted

Apparently, his lack knowledge of the weather and quality of football in Saudis only surpassed by his tax dodging scheme.

I know footballers generally aren't the brightest but Henderson has really embarrassed himself here.

At the end of the day it's pure greed. They are already set for life with the money they have and money talks in every sport these days.

When you're already a multi millionaire I'll never understand moving somewhere like Saudi, especially if you're uprooting your family. He could have moved to somewhere like Florida or California for a few years and had a great lifestyle.

Maybe he thought that playing and living would be safer in Saudi then in “Gun nutter land”.

Happen it wasn't the correct environment for any gay friends or campaigners he knows to visit him, they'd have been executed.

I'm disgusted at the lack of sympathy shown on here for this talented multi-millionaire footballer, forced to go to Saudi where its a bit hot sometimes and earn a paltry £350K a week whilst promoting the global game and equality and diversity and a few other things he feels strongly about, all this from the luxury of his air conditioned villa with Olympic sized swimming pool (I made this bit up).

Super hendo is a scouse leg-end and a global warrior fighting the good fight and some of you should be ashamed of your narrow minded views.

He now has to hire his own personal jet to make an emergency flight back to Europe to escape his nightmare of the last few months to become Dutch footballs highest earner.

What a guy. Thicker than a Boxing day tu-rd.
