VAR isn't the issue, attention seeking referees being slipped back handers is the issue

Aye, much better that PSG benefit from a dodgy decision.

I was ragin about the penalty last night, but I'm more sanguine now. 2 years ago we were scraping a 1-1 draw with Norwich, now we're disappointed to have a win robbed off us at Mbappe's PSG. And to get that draw witht he same CB partnership from the Championship, a 17yr old kid and no substitutions is unbelievable. Eddie Howe is already up there with Keegan and Robson for me.

Regardless of the money Eddie Howe is doing a fantastic job.

And the moon is made of cheese. The referee got the decision correct on field and was essentially forced to change his mind, nothing to do with back handers just awful use of technology.

It's just incredible they continue to get the most obvious decisions wrong, I'm convinced we've been robbed of 6 vital points with decisions that really weren't that difficult

I'm finding myself less and less interested in the whole money-go-round charade that is modern football, its just not as enjoyable as it used to be

I just want the Clarets to do well ... couldn't give a **** about the rest

I was sat relaxing at home on Sunday afternoon looking forward to watching Spurs v Villa with a nice glass of wine or 2 ... I turned it off after about 25 mins, players rolling around in agony/ John McGinn screaming at the ref every 5 mins/ pundits talking inane ******** etc

and yes I am turning into a grumpy old man

anytime a ball hits an arm in whatever circumstance in a UEFA competition it's a penalty.
So, if an opposing player "deliberately" strikes the ball to hit a defenders hand, elbow or arm should it be a penalty?

The solution may be to have all outfield players running around in straightjackets - oh wait - a whole new skill game on the horizon to add to VAR

There is a theme though - referees are becoming much more prominent in the sport - nearly on par with top players now. They probably feel part of their job now requires an element of entertainment rather than officiating.

Think that often gets lost. We haven't spent half as much as people expected us. The work he's done with the likes of Joelinton, Almiron, Longstaff, Lascelles... unbelievable. 2 of them had one foot out of the door, and Joelinton was a £40m punchline.

Was it ever made clear why he left Burnley? All I can find is "Personal reasons"

if you've watched any European games over the last few years they give unfathomable hand balls. It's ridiculously strict and has allowed nonsene decision like PSG got yesterday. In the last year or so we've seen handballs given in the European games for handball when the players have been less than 2 yards away, not even looking at the ball etc. It's a farce but that's unquestionably how they've been applying handball for at least 2 seasons.
