It’s a forum, grow a thicker skin would be my advice. You’re describing top half PL teams as ‘dross’. That’s very different from saying we used to pick up points against these teams and now we don’t. You can’t expect to say something as patently ludicrous as that and not expect a reaction. Especially when you feel the need to keep revisiting that point.NL Claret wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 12:46 amI’d describe them as being streets ahead of the current Burnley team, in previous successful PL campaigns we’d get points off these teams. Under Dyche we found ways of winning games, under VK in the PL we’ve found ways of not winning games and that is irrespective of who is in goal. I posted a few weeks ago about a fellow claret that recently passed away, someone knew him and said that Geoff thought it is was a privilege to be a Claret. On here you get called weird or pathetic for not sharing a posters viewpoint, over to you.

Re: Palace vs United
Seems like you’ve fallen at the first hurdle. Why not be more supportive of the team? You dismissed our good form and decided to focus on negatives.
It’s been a shite season, but we can’t just dismiss the quality of the opposition and expect results to land on a plate for us. .

Re: Palace vs United
What I found re-assuring last night was that 3 of Palace's outstanding players had been recruited from the Championship-Wharton. Elise, Eve. Their values have already increased significantly. For me our two best buys this season have both come from the Championship-Berge and O Shea.We seem to be focused on finding good young players from abroad and whilst Koleosho, Odobert, and to a lesser degree Benson and Zarourry have been very astute signings, just take a look at the numerous amount of foreign players on our squad list that quite frankly we are going to struggle big style to sell or move on

I think it was his wife being ill at the time that saw him make the decision. I didn't know he had a heart condition though.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon May 06, 2024 11:08 pmI think the fact that he was in his 70s with a heart condition might have also been a consideration leading to his retirement had he kept going he would have give hodgson & warnock a run for their money the man was no spring chicken.

Both Paul Scholes and Michael Owen call for ETH to be sacked and Steve McClaren to be given the job on a temporary basis.

Re: Palace vs United
It's a fair point this, Palace seem to trust the Championship, Moyes has always done well there too. I suppose it depends which scouting 'agency' you employ. I saw Eze ages ago at a boring, dead rubber match between Sheff Weds and QPR, he stood out an absolute mile. I think it was still another year or maybe two before he was given a chance in the Prem.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 9:06 amWhat I found re-assuring last night was that 3 of Palace's outstanding players had been recruited from the Championship-Wharton. As someone else said, they got a steal with that Wharton. Despite his awful background, he's going to the very top.

There was many people saying we should’ve jumped at Eze before his eventual move to Palace. Olise too, an absolute bargain, I think his release clause from Reading was £5.5m.NottsClaret wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2024 10:45 amIt's a fair point this, Palace seem to trust the Championship, Moyes has always done well there too. They’re both a million miles away from being Dyche type players though.
