Nothing beats it in football when you build a team that can beat some of the best teams in the world.
You only have to look at Crystal Palace's win against Manchester United. That's what supporting a less reputable team is all about! Previously they lost both Zaha (though he came back) and Wan-Bissaka to UTD because they can't compete with wages and they'll likely lose Olise to them this summer.. yet nothing will replace the memories of that night for their fans just as we still have our memories of victories against better opposition.
We can get to that point again and even better with time. If we happen to stay up it will only help us get there sooner but if we don't, there's still hope.
BUT overall, for me, the championship will be more enjoyable just because we will win more games and suddenly we'll be the team to beat rather than the underdogs. For me it has nothing to do with VAR which has become a scapegoat for what really is just inept refereeing rather than the system itself. The bias and inconsistency is annoying but like VAR I don't think that's anything to do with why I'd enjoy the championship more. Cheating is more or less the same in the championship only premier League players are sometimes better at buying fouls.
I guess what I'm trying to say is the reason it will be more enjoyable is mainly down to the results. If we were to be relegated from the championship there's no chance we'd find it better than being relegated from this league. Fans are happy when winning and not much else.
Prem or Championship?
