What would moving the pitch 6 yards closer to the Longside do for the view of anyone on the front rows?
Them seats are below pitch level aren't they? Is anybody on here who sits there? Would it make much of a difference?
Just a personal opinion, I’ve only sat down there for one cup match, but I can’t see how it would make it worse to be closer to the players.
That said, the whole design with the pitch above the level of the lower seats is daft. You have two extremes: the Bob Lord and CFS where they’re well above it and the Longside & JM where they are below.
Obviously any full pitch replacement could deal with this by going lower, levelling & then repositioning to make more room for BL & CFS expansion, but I don’t think that’s the plan here unfortunately.
In my mind that probably means no stadium changes/upgrades planned in the near future.

I’ve just had a look at the ground on google satellite. I would encourage anyone with OCD not to do the same.
Right hotchpotch, isn’t it? Can’t really understand why it was designed in the way it was, particularly the two ‘new’ stands.

Which might just have brought some money in of course
This before or after tyre tracks on the pitch would be repaired?

Just think of the angles to the far side of the pitch.

Yeah fair enough but I imagine they’re bad anyway. At least you’d be closer to the action on the near side even if your view to the far side might be slightly worse.
Overall though the pitch level needs lowering and moving towards the Longside to create room for expansion (even if it’s part of a longer term plan - some foresight is needed because we’re not going to be able to keep the CFS and BL forever).

I’ve said this before, but I think in order to square the pitch up with the centre of the Jimmy Mac they’d need to remove several rows of seats in the Longside lower. That way it would look better if and when they replace the Cricket Field and allow a further 10 feet in front of the Bob Lord stand for that to be expanded at some point on a slightly larger footprint.
The additional benefit of that would be a better view for those at the front of the Longside lower as they’d be higher up.

Whilst they're realigning the pitch could they also put the goals in line with the trajectory of our strikers' shots.

It’s 14 years since the Desso pitch was installed and I’m sure Fletcher said at the time that they last about 15 years.
I remember somebody from the Club, maybe Matt Williams, in an interview saying that Desso pitches need changing every 10 years and this 1 has been in place 14 years.
