The playing area may be small but Rawtenstall is very capable of hosting a final…not sure what the official gate was that day but it was thought to be c.10,000…

Re: Worsley Cup Semi Final Draw
I've been around a few grounds in the last few years and I think the most important factor is space. Some grounds are very tight and would seriously struggle with any sort of a large crowd. Walsden for example is a very small ground with very little space around the edge for extra capacity/marquees etc. Norden too isn't really the biggest. Then there is the organisation and drive to make the very most out of the day. The final at Clitheroe a few years ago struck me as quite low key from Clitheroe. Only the corner/side by the nets/bowling green had marquee seating and other than a few extra coffee/catering vans it wasn't that much different to a league game there..with the obvious exception of a larger crowd.

Whilst I agree there’s room on the banking, it’s bloody lethal on there these dayshelmclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 10:41 pmThe playing area may be small but Rawtenstall is very capable of hosting a final…not sure what the official gate was that day but it was thought to be c.10,000…
