its a entertainment venue, its not going to be Spoons prices is it. Paid more for a bottle at some stadiums last year
It's Turf Moor, has there been much entertainment there over the last 12 months?

If people are going to pay those silly prices for a bottle of beer then the various clubs where you bought them will continue to hike those prices.

Fans don't expect Wetherspoon prices at football grounds but neither do they expect to be ripped off for sometimes inferior produce.

My match day experience is pretty much the same as normal.

Tend to get inside the ground 5 minutes before kick off and leave at the end of the match. Sometimes have a pint at half time if staff are serving people at a decent rate.

Managed to get 3 pints at half time against Cardiff, it did cost £18.30 but I don't imagine it will be much cheaper at any ground in this division or even other leagues.

if people dont buy them prices will go up also to make it profitable.

like most things, its an optional purchase, i can go 90mins without a pint, so if i dont want one i dont buy one.

lets not make it a Burnley problem though, i paid £7.99 for a pint at the airport last week.

I used to buy a coffee and sometimes food before the start of the game and at half time for years but as the kiosks at the ground are now cashless I won't give them a penny.

That’s not how supply and demand works

It’s also not about the cost of a pint at an airport or elsewhere - we all know that there are other expensive places. It’s about the extent of the increase in prices across the board in the last 2 or 3 years in particular in the match day experience - whether that be on the concourse bars or in hospitality….food, drink, the tickets. They are the highest increases in the history of the club.
It’s no surprise that some people can no longer afford it. And yes…before you say it we realise that it’s optional.

as i said before, its no different to whats going on anywhere else, its not a problem with our club, prices are increasing everywhere for everything. its no surprise that the prices at the football club have gone up also.

its not a charity or community interest facility, its just the way of the world. like it or lump it.

Just in case you hadn't noticed, everything has gone up in the past 2 or 3 years, everywhere, and not just in this country

Not by 35%. Even the doctors and train drivers didn't get that!

Just a simple comparison, fish and chips in a local pub, 3 yrs ago was £10.99 now it's £15.99 and the portions are smaller.

Baffles me that people have such an issue paying by contactless v cash.

Cash is frankly a pain in the arse

So if no one buys their products the club will increase prices to remedy that situation. That seems a bit strange?

Its the prices and service at Turf Moor that is being discussed, doesn't that make it a Burnley problem?

Yes it is being discussed, but it's nonsense. Don't think you'll get a beer at a ground in this division for any less than we charge. Doesn't make it right, but that's the way of the world.

Will go up again after the budget in October too, brace yourself.

What’s this all about ? Are you one of those who believe card payments to be monitored by a shadowy cabal of lizard-people as part of the “Great Reset” towards a new world order ? Because otherwise I don’t understand your objection. Faffing about with cash is a right pain .

I have to admit, as part of the older generation, I very rarely use cash nowadays, far easier to use phone or card

I won't need to be bracing myself, I tend not to pay what I regard as 'rip off prices' for food or drink!

That's the right way to be, if you don't like it, don't pay it.

We seem to have a problem with some people not operating this way

I don't get the thought process of the concourse catering teams.

The decision to put alcohol sales on all the tills hasn't improved things but in fact gridlocked all the sales points.

There is a finite time to serve people before the game and at half time, the staff on the JHU take your order and then bugger off for five minutes while they get your food etc.

Why isn't someone taking orders and a separate team preparing the food?

There doesn't seem to be anyone in charge, just a bunch of teenagers wandering around looking lost, with no real enthusiasm for the job they are meant to be doing.

It was shambolic in the Jimmy Mac lower tonight.

It’s a fair achievement to actually make it worse the longer the ‘new’ system has been implemented.
