As others have said, as it stands and providing they're all ready to go:
Hladky/ Trafford
Roberts. Worrell. Esteve Humphreys.
Cullen Hannibal
Anthony Brownhill. Koleosho
Foster
would you swop any of the above for any bturd player ? Nope don't think so.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
The key players we must keep are Esteve (defender with pace) Cullen to run midfield Brownhill as a number 10 and Koleosho wide with pace. Keep those and get the injured players fit and we could do ok later in season. But if we lose on Saturday then the plan ( if there is one ) will have failed. On the financial side everybody seems to be forgetting our parachute money which I believe is about 50 million

With all the pearl-clutching bed-wetting drama-queenery of the last few days, you'd be forgiven for thinking there was no point us turning up tomorrow.
Only to see a team of U21s, sulking fringe players and the walking wounded.
Well...on reflection I've decided that we may well field a better starting side tomo than that which dry bummed Cardiff 2 weeks ago.
And a better motivated team of players who want to be here to boot.
There..I've said it.

They've just signed Todd Cantwell from Rangers.
(Subject to medical) so presuming he'll start.
Probably better than owt they've got, so have to keep
him quiet.
With the new additions, though, we should have enough to see 'em off.

The game is 24 hours away, the transfer window closes in just 11 hours and yet I haven't a bloody clue about the team because I've no idea who will and won't be there and available!! Not sure SP does either, which is probably even more worrying!

Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
Anthony's been training a few days, and Parker knows him. He starts for sure. I think in a Derby game, there's no chance he goes for Humphreys over Worall in central defence. Maybe LB, but pires will give them more to think about when we're attacking. He's had a shaky few games but let's not forget he had 2 assists against Luton. Cullen sounds a doubt and I think Parker likes Massengo. Then there's the right hand side. If he's anywhere close I think Koleosho will play there. So:
Trafford
Roberts
Worrall
Esteve
Pires
Massengo
Hannibal
Brownhill
Anthony
Foster
Koleosho
Trafford
Roberts
Worrall
Esteve
Pires
Massengo
Hannibal
Brownhill
Anthony
Foster
Koleosho

Keeping Koleosho, esteve, Brownhill and Foster along with the signings we've made this week has turned it around somewhat. Especially if flemming comes through, I think that makes a big difference. A week ago it didn't half look bleak!

I think it's been brilliant to get shut of the likes of the overrated Amdouni and Weghorst , bad influences like Obafemi , disillusioned players like Zaroury , and great pros we can move forward without like Taylor and Gudmundsson. There's others away from the training ground that were blocking the path of younger players from the U/21willsclarets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 8:51 pmKeeping Koleosho, esteve, Brownhill and Foster along with the signings we've made this week has turned it around somewhat. Assuming Cullen and Koleosho are fit:

Roberts Worrall Esteve Pires/Humphreys
Cullen Massengo
Anthony Brownhill Koleosho
Foster
Hladky/Traff Sambo Pires/Humphreys CJ Hannibal Sarmiento Benny JRod Hount
More than enough to beat them lot.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
Fair sure we can put out an eleven capable of beating them to be honest.
Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
I thought I'd pop in to say hello again after our encounters the season before last.
You've had an interesting week or two. Although it hasn't looked great, I wasn't convinced it was all doom and gloom for you, and that you'd still be able to make a few quality signings. Looks to be the case. From the outside looking in, it's looked like a case of players not wanting to dig it out in the second tier combined with their idol having left. There are also books to balance, too, but what the situations is on that, I'm not clued up on. If it's any worth to anybody, all I can advise is to try to keep enjoying the football because there's not a lot more you can do as supporters. Players will always look out for themselves, and owners will always be balancing books. That's just how it is.
From a Rovers point of view, we've had a pretty good window by our standards. I won't say more than that, but it looks like we upgraded our fax machine. Last year was utter chaos for us. In fact, it was uncomfortable as a supporter to see our dirty washing aired in public. We're somewhat fortunate to still be in this league, but Eustace deserves some credit (from me, not you) for pulling the squad together and shoring us up at the back to keep us here. Having said that, we've conceded poor goals so far this season, particularly from corners where our 'keeper twitches at anything thrown at him aerially, and it seems like our squad still isn't fully fit as yet, hence our surprisingly senior side that treated the Cup game against Blackpool like a friendly (at least let me believe that if nothing else).
As for tomorrow (or today as it is now), I think most Rovers fans would have felt confident about getting something from the game had your fire sale continued and nothing much was brought in. Our squad, on paper, is still trailing yours in terms of quality, so I'm expecting a defeat on that basis. The bigger question for me is whether we'll give you more of a game than our dismal showing at your place almost two years ago. For all Tomasson's talk and smiling about passion and so on, he didn't have a clue about what this game meant to us, even if we were favourites to lose in the first place. Kompany, at least, has played in countless English derbies, and probably knew what it meant to your lot and gave it the respect it deserved. But I have to remain quietly hopeful we'll at least put up a smidgen of a fight this time around. Mentally, I'd be able to manage a battling performance and a narrow defeat, but I really couldn't go through the manner of that 3-0 defeat again.
Well, that's got my nerves kicked in, now! Enjoy the day, but not too much eh, and at least we've got a derby that I suspect most other supporters are unlucky enough to not have, nor will they ever grasp. As with two years ago, come rain or shine, I'll try to pop back on after the game to give my thoughts. Stay safe.

Brave man coming on here with a fair appraisal of the respective transfer windows and the prospects of our teams for the Saturday lunchtime game.
I think with all the changes it promises to be a tough and potentially scrappy game. I’ve forecast 1-1 but am obviously hoping for a Clarets win. I will agree with your message for all to have a safe and enjoyable day.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
I don't think jrod starts. I know it's a derby game n all, but 3 games is a lot at his age and we have options to support Foster now.

Re: Your starting eleven vs Blackburn
I'd start Humphreys to help negate the aerial threat of their big guy upfront.

Roberts Esteve Worrall Humphreys
Cullen Hannibal
Koleosho Brownhill Anthony
