Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
Trafford
Egan Riley, Humphries, Esteve, Pires
Cullen
Koleosho, Brownhill, Hannibal, Sarmiento
Foster
No-one who is untested in that line-up. Not sure why so many have their knickers twisted!

I'd have played a half fit Egan over Egan Riley but let's see how it goes

Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
I like that the line up is looking a little more “ in shape “ position wise , and I get the feeling SP is nailing down a few more starters with bench options fluid . Foster remains the enigma , though against this lot shout be loads of supply .
Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
Disappointed Flemming isn’t involved. Weird how we are never told about any injuries.
Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
What’s going on with the Audio, the crowd microphones are drowning out Phil Bird, can hardly hear him!

Can confirm they are physically a big side
Hopefully makes them a bit more cumbersome

Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
From what I've seen from OU fans they are a counter-attacking team just like us so not they will also hold their defensive and midfield lines waiting for opportunities to break. Foster is likely not going to get too much space for fancy football nor get much comfortable supply. I think our key openings will come to Luca and Sarmiento breaking through with pace.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 2:56 pmI like that the line up is looking a little more “ in shape “ position wise , and I get the feeling SP is nailing down a few more starters with bench options fluid . Pointless passing around at the back does my head in.

Could be worse. We could be Oxford trying it!tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 3:10 pm"Play out from the back they said"

Who are these Roy Hodgson sounding clowns on my feed?
I can't watch much more of this listening to those two.

Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
I do wish we would shoot more when we have the opportunity instead of needless passing

Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
Not just this game, but I’m struggling to see what Hannibal does in an attacking sense.

Invisible to the naked eye. Pops up, undetected for goal.

Poor miss from Foster to not even be remotely close to hitting the target from around a yard outside the 6 yard box

Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
Why didn't Foster play the ball then.
Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
2 corners us
Re: Clarets vs Oxford match Thread
In the first half an hour, Foster has blasted over from 8 ywrds with an extremely presentable chance and just now elected to shoot when he could've played in two others.
Once again, we don't play to his strengths necessarily but equally he doesn't help himself AND there's nothing to suggest we should.
