It's impossible to say whether he has improved on last season as he is playing at a much lower level. He is also being protected by two centre back which are above this level.
To say he has the potential to be Englands No1,he would have to prove himself at premiership level which he hasn't done yet

I don’t disagree, he does need to ‘prove’ himself in the Premier League. But, he’s shown enough skill and temperament this season to satisfy this stage of his career.

He’s been brilliant this season. He was badly let down by Kompanys ego and his kamikaze tactics. Man City would’ve been fuming with their former captain!

He knows what his career pathway looks like at club and country.

I find it amazing that anyone believes Trafford’s “slow play” is anything other than part of team tactics.
While I agree with you there have been times he has been slow thinking and careless in his distribution which has had nothing to do with team tactics. An excellent example was the Middlesborough game when he nearly cost us the game when he had the ball unnecessarily nicked off him. I didn't see yesterday's game but mention has made on more than one occasion of his uncertainty.
He's now got the advantage of playing with a very good defence at a level where most teams cannot finish.
There is a happy medium in all this that many are not finding.

As a member of the "Goalkeepers Union", I will always defend our last line of defence.

Yes, he makes mistakes and his play can put your heart in your mouth at times, but he is a good shot stopper and will improve as he gets older. A week or two with Tom Heaton would probably help him.

Tonight was all about his mentality. He’s got the attitude and confidence of a top goalkeeper.

Big game, on TV, shithousery right in front of the away end (Twice!) and two huge saves.

He’s going to the top, where some on here believe it or not.

If his play puts people’s hearts in their mouth I can only assume Muric’s harvested their heart and chucked it away. 😂

He is excellent. Not sure he'll ever win over a certain element in the stands, though.

He will be at Newcastle next season, regardless of which league we are in

Is Pope leaving Newcastle?

If Trafford goes there, he’d be behind Pope in the pecking order for me. Nick Pope is a phenomenal Premier League goalkeeper.

All the rumours with Newcastle about signing Trafford, and the write ups on their fan pages saying they have got him. I would just love City to come in and buy him back. Wipe the smile of their faces :) .
